I have not played FC for a long time so I reinstalled, fowarded the ports, and patched the game. When I tried to get on multiplayer it asked me to enter my CDkey like normal and I put it in, it says it is invalid. I read somewhere on one of the farcry support sites that after the first three letters in the key there will be no O's. Even so, my key has two zeros in it and I've tried every combination of O's and 0's there is and none of them work. Please help.

Did you read the sticky post regarding CD Key issues? If you are trying to join a server but you dont have the map it is running you can encounter this problem.

That's just the problem. I can't even see the server list yet. After I log in it immediately asks for my cdkey. I cannot try to join servers or anything. It just asks me for the cdkey and no matter how I put it in with or without hyphens, with O's or 0's it won't work.

To which revision? 1.4?
What path did you use for patching? Cumulative or individuals? Are you using Mcaffee Security suite? Or any other AV/FW software? |

Ok, I made a little progress. Now its telling me that my cdkey is already in use (its patched to 1.4 cumulative btw)

So you still dont see the server list?
What about the antivirus or firewall as I asked above? |

|
The only firewall i have is the one on my router and like I said I already forwarded the ports so that should not be the problem. My anti-virus is not the problem either. I disabled it and tried FC but it still said CDkey in use. No, I cant see the server list because it is asking for my cdkey right after I log in. I also just repaired far cry rather than reinstall it and installed patches 1.3-1.33 and 1.4 stand alone. I am still having the same problem.

Now its telling me my cdkey is invalid again. I didn't change anything, all I did was try my cdkey again after I installed standalone patch 1.4

So you dont have windows firewall switched on?
The whole point of asking you what you were using is because some applications dont allow Far Cry to work even when you think you have disabled them. McAffee Security suite was one of those... When patching and unpatching, be sure to remove all patches in reverse order or you can run into problems with your registry. It wont cause the problem you see now, but it has other side effects shoudl we over come this. When you say you have opened the ports on the router, have you opened them for both TCP and UDP in bound and out bound? You have opened the range of ports, not just individula ones? Have you double checked the ports are forwarded with the tools found here? http://portforward.com |

Windows firewall is off. I use avg as an antivirus. Ports are open for both udp and tcp inbound and outbound and I checked using that site. Here is a list of the ports I opened.
Protocol PS PE PM TCP 49001 49002 49001 UDP 49001 49002 49001 UDP 49124 49124 49124 PS=port start PE=port end PM=port map |

I just tried logging in again and now its back to saying that my cdkey is already in use. What's funny about this is that I could change whatever letters in the cdkey I wanted and it still would not tell me it was invalid, it only said that it was in use no matter how many letters or which ones I changed.
