Please Note that 1.4 contains a serious bug that manifests itself in the Single Player game; the AI are able to see and shoot through solid buildings...

It is recommended that for SP you only patch up to 1.33, leaving 1.4 until you have completed the campaign and are ready to try Multiplayer

Added occlusive damage to vehicle explosions (player cannot die due to an explosion while behind a solid object any more)
Fall damage reduced
General weapons balancing
Health and armor adjusted amongst the classes to give the Grunt the most, Engineer medium and Sniper least.
New OICW grenade launcher interface
New RL fire mode
Server and client optimizations for smoother gameplay
Stamina increased 50%
Sticky bombs replaced with "Beta" C4
Wrench now has melee capability

MOST IMPORTANTLY the in game credits have been updated Big Grin

OK, I installed 1.4 then, after getting kicked from a PB server for having a sounds1.pak file, uninstalled 1.4. The problem, Far Cry is still 1.4 build 1405. I think the sounds1.pak is from the patch but PB seems to have a problem with it. Its either a 1.4 server with an old PB or the patch is a bogus one. (From the link Unreal posted). I guess I will have to reinstall the whole game and wait for the official patch.

(Also, the patch seemed to have mp_px_maps or map updates imbedded so it was probably bogus)

this maybe just our server, but the original mp_jungle gives level mismatch error

James is correct, a surprise to me the original Jungle has been modified, afaik you need to replace the whole jungle folder.
Will post details when the dl finishes.

Navigating to the UBI official site patches area, the links are now there and active.

@Coops- You were whitefilelist kicked because there are two additional files in FCData with this patch; Sounds1.pak and Textures2.pak. I have a new PB config ready:

There are several changes as some console commands were closed off with the patch and, of course, all new md5tool checks.

The _px_ in the maps indicate the are from Project Fixit.

@James and all- Jungle had a bug in it which was addressed. You will need to update it on your server.

@Slug- Yes, there will be a Linux 1.4, but I do not know when it's coming.

Lastly, I have made a basic 1.4 server config. It doesn't have spawn messages or anything like that. You will not see a whole lot of gr_ commands because they are automated within Scripts.pak:

Thanks for making everyone who spend nearly 3 years "Mastering" the m249 a complete n4b again bow

Ffs, there was nothing wrong with the gun, why change it?
Also stand sniping is now so easy my dog can do it, m5 has absolutly 0 recoil, the first person spec mode is pointless as it shows no radar, no health and dont show when u hit someone. When you die you cant see who killed you because the scoreboard gets in the way. Sniper speed with sniper in hand is snails pace (if you dont like getting ownd by people no scoping its no reason to get rid of it altogether). I found that bino bug, nade bug and 00 bug were still easilly possible.
The new maps are good, the spanner is cool, the new weapon selections are impressive and the GL and RL feature is brilliant. Other than that, congrats for killing farcry Clap

And i figured all that out in 20 minutes of playing.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the net code (if u altered it) was brilliant for me with the guns with less recoil. But maybe i was having a rare experience of HD Smile
Still got CD key in use error
And I noticed the pings are now 'real', which is good, but people are now getting high kick pings for 100 and above with the GLSSM

On crymod Alex states that the Linux files should be ready "in a couple of weeks". At the same time they will release dedicated server files.

So let me get this right:
Release a patch for a "multiplayer" game with primarily "multiplayer" fixes and yet dont release the server update, OK!!

Someone is smoking something serious over there when they came up with this idea Frown

Ok, I will try to post some answers to some common questions I'm getting in IM:

The grenade/bino/no recoil bugs are not fixed???

Grenade bug: I think this should've been worded differently as it refers to spamming grenades from the ammo box which was fixed by grenades no longer being available from there. You pick up grenades from ammo drops from players now.

The more common grenade bug was not fixed per weapon switching explaination below.

Bino bug: The bino bug fix is most complete when enemy crosshair names are not used.

No recoil: Players purposely enabling no recoil was not fixed because it would be best fixed with a delay between switching weapons. We could not add this delay per senior Crytek management instructions not to affect any aspect of the SP game. We did add the first person spectator mode, so hopefully this will deter some of this activity. Speaking of which...

Why isn't there more HUD information shown in first person specatator?

The information was limited to the crosshair only due to security risks.

The CD Key issue is not fixed???

The login time after being kicked has been reduced from 10 minutes to 45 seconds. I'd say that is a pretty adequate fix.

What happened to HDR and AA with ATI x1000 series cards???

This feature was not included in the final version of the patch due to engine related issues.

Why is my ping so bad now with 1.4?

The scoreboard now properly dislays the roundtrip from your PC to server and back. It matches up with cl_netstats roundtrip.

Example: Ping of 16 to a server in 1.33 will now be properly displayed as 32 on 1.4's scoreboard.

OK for once I will put something constructive.

The patch is ok, Although you have now turned the grunts into lapdogs and made the engi and snipers absolute gods. I was having a go at being sniper before either I have got pretty damn good at it in my 5 weeks away or it is one bullet kill anywhere on the body??

I agree with Portchy the standing up lark with the Sniper was one reason people were being driven away and now you have made it easier.

Why give the sniper a machine Gun????

And with regards to the God Engi's - Let us get this straight they can now kill with their spanner, use the M4 they have always had and now for a little treat you throw in an extra machine gun to choose from just for good measure?

So all in all any 16 man server will now consist of 6 or 7 engis per team and 1 or 2 snipers and diddly squat Grunts!!!

Seems a little stupid for me. All in all I think you may of just finished FarCry off.

So what now for the future?

Do we carry on playing alternative games?? Quake Wars is out next week and a lot of people will turn to that - I think this was your last chance to save an excellent game and now you have just put it in the ground - Thanks very much!!! Farewell Frown

First hands on it was weird.
Had major lag issues.
Grunt is now a sissy.
Did a complete reinstall to see if that fixes the lag issue.

You are joking right? Crytek thought as well as distributing the new maps, they would fix a bug in Jungle, but didn't fix the more critical Server Crashing one in Airstrip? Very strange decision.

@ Clivey: Airstrip bug has been fixed dude. Please read the change log completely Smile Airstrip bug fix was a code change, so no need to update the map.

Ahh, latest questions:

Why can't I select M4/MP5 and bombs/health for engy?? Why do I spawn with half armor as a grunt?? Why doesn't TK punish/forgive work???

You still have GLSSM (Scripts6.pak) or Kerpo SSM (Scripts5.pak) in your server's FCData folder. Remove the offending file and reboot your server.
