Ubisofts official position on this issue is below:

The first person to complain and get banned over this issue was complaining because it WASN'T world wide, the US requirements were well known last week.

Your free promotion wasted my time and pissed me off good up in canada

Not my promotion mate, and Ubi closed it almost a week ago, blame the download sites for still having it available.

Oh well, I guess I feel your guys pain, but I'm still enjoying playing through the single player component of farcry for free... oh, and ofcourse I live in america, honest! <_<

I downloaded this file and now can't even play it? I spent time and effort for this and only got disappointed. Why they release these files and then close down everything, not good. Game is 4 years old. What they got to loose ? Release it, full version and no area restrictions. After this episode, with multiplayer thank you. Ubi get your act together.

why publish everywhere it beens released free if it was promotion. promotion my behind... ubi thought they could get away with releasing it free to the U.S. relised they screwed up and made some excuse about only free for labour day.

i dloaded POP and farcry
i live in the USA
pop works but when i install farcry its says i dont live in the usa but i live in AMERICA
CAN some one tell me how to get farcry to work
I SPENT 10 HOURS DOWNLOADING FARYCRY and i want to play it
i had to formate cause of a virus now nuthing is working from ubi
hell i was even going to go buy the full game if i could play it to see if sp was any good

Hate to say it but you have 'missed the boat' on this one, the free download of FC1 (ad supported) is no longer available. It was a labour weekend promotion, and apparently only available for that period.

All I can say is that SP is worth the $10 or so that it costs in the shops these days.
