a) You have to have a profile similar to Nicko's post above in your Far Cry\Profiles\server directory with a .cfg extension. Format is (Profile name)_server.cfg. You can have as many server profiles as you want there.



b) You have to open up the .pak with an archive utility (WinZip, WinRar, IZArc, 7-Zip, etc.) Then you can read the .lua files with Notepad.

I tried playing on the server and it seems to be working fine.

DocSEAL, thanks for the installation instructions in the GL-SSM package. It's easier than I thought to install.

Now I'm just learning to configure it with my xxx_server.cfg file.

Theres a lot you dont need here.All files that you can delete from the FC.DATA folder are.
Textures
Textures1
Textures2
Sounds
Music
localised folder with all its contents.
there are other files you can delete also if you want to in the main FarCry folder.
Register folder
Support folder
Editor folder
shaders folder
Languages folder
and not to mention you can delete all maps you dont want to use also.

I use GLSSM on TDM only...Is there a way to have the gl_max_sniper_ammo working on TDM like the new gl_max_rockets_tdm do ? That will be nice to implement this, and perhaps a gl_max_sniper_damage_factor for some sort of anti-sniping camping ?

In all my hours of playing FC, I think only about 10 or 20 are in FFA/TDM. I'm not sure how well GLSSM works/doesn't work with these modes. It looks as though you're asking for some new features rather than reporting something broken, though. After patch 1.4 is released, there's going to be a new version of GLSSM. I'll look into adding them then Big Grin

Ive only used the GLssm on FFA servers and its never failed to get better with each new version also its so customizable. Wink2

Since the 1.4 patch came out, does anyone know when or if the new GLSSM is going to be released?

Does the current version of GLSSM work with the current Far Cry 1.4 patch?

Sorry Cooldude, the current version doesnt work with 1.4, but 1.4 does contain most GLSSM functions.

I heard that Doc was going to release a 1.4 compatible version, but havent seen any mention of this for a while now.

One thing you could try if you want more than 1.4 provides is this:

Thanks for the info!

eXcaliTrone looks really cool and some of these features should have been included in the original game. Especially the auto map downloader.

I'll wait until it is out of Beta before I try it out.

I'm pleased to announce the long-await release of the new version of GLSSM. As most of you know, patch 1.4 integrated most of GLSSM into its scripting, but not fully. Here is what GLSSM 3.9 does:

Restored previous GLSSM commands:

gl_max_rockets_ffa --max rockets in reserve. Default is 10.
gl_max_oicw_nades_ffa --max OICW nades in reserve. Default is 10.
gl_max_ag36_nades_ffa --max AG36 nades in reserve. Default is 10.
gl_fwd_mg --max machinegun rounds on Hummer. Default is 700.
gl_fwd_rl --max rockets on Hummer. Default is 30.
gl_fwd_wd --max depth of water Hummer can go in. Default is 1.
gl_buggy_mg --max machinegun rounds on Buggy. Default is 500.
gl_buggy_wd --max depth of water Buggy can go in. Default is 1.
gl_boat_mg --max machinegun rounds on Assault boat. Default is 500.
gl_boat_rl --max rockets on Assault boat. Default is 30.
gl_team_balance --enables/disables autoteambalance for Assault and TDM modes. Default is 1 (enabled. 0 disables.)
gl_nextmapmessage --Displays next map on HUD when you spawn. Default is on. 0 is off.

New 3.9 commands added:

gl_max_sniper_ffa --max sniper rounds in reserve. Default is 30.

New command to adjust assault boat speed:

gl_boat_speed --value is multiplied by default 1.4 speed, thus value of 3 means boat is 3x as fast as default. Default is 1.

How do we install the new 3.9 versions. The zip file doesn't contain any .pak file.

I just installed the 3.7 and I am not able to climb mountains like the other severs.

In answer to lionel question if he hasn't got answer yet - download that file he's linked for and re-name the file from *****.zip to *****.pak. then place in with rest of .pak files.
Question to DocSEAL if i may please. Like the new 3.9!!!! using it now instread of xtv3 - something feels right now with my 24/7 dedicated server and it didn't before - maybe the compression mask or something that lowered table pings - (felt like jumpy lag was introduced). now all sweet with 3.9 Smile
Anyhow - what is the comands with godlike 3.9 to control AUTOTEAM balance in tdm????? always trouble having teambalance enabled - want to rid it off. the xtv3 comands aren't the same.

I hate to be a pain in the butt, I have read and read, and seen updates, and changes galore, and Im not sure on which files to download/install.

I am just starting to make a server now. My server will be running 1.33.

So I hate to be a pain, but What are the files I need (updated till 1.33)To start a server with this mod?

I did attempt to run a server already, but I think I had different versions of the scripts6.pak

I downloaded the GLSSM 3.8. Put the files where I thought they were supposed to go. Then I seen the 3.9 update, and overwrote the Scripts6 file with the new version.

I started up the server config window, loaded my server profile, then hit launch. The level started to load,(I seen the mod loaded) and then when I had to pick between player or spec, regardless of wich I picked, it crashes to the desktop. If I try to run the dedicated server.bat file, it just hangs. Im losing more of my hair, and I dont have much left Smile

HELP

Allllrighty then...Thanks for the help.

Anyway, I got the mod to load, the server loads, and it shows the mod on connect. Now, where is the section where I change things like Stamina, Run speed, gravity, and stuff like that. Is that in the Scripts6.pak or is that somewhere else?
