Hia all,
GL-SSM is beeing redone to include new features wanted by the comunity. Hers a preview of the features in the new release: 1. Average ping kick (aka high ping kick gl style Using average ping kick will do exactly what you want. Kicking players with an average above the maximum ping you allow on your server. As soon as a player joins the server, his ping is tracked, and the average ping is being calculated. How often the ping of the players is checked (and average calculated) is optional. When a player has an average ping above the allowed average, he gets a warning. When the player has (an optional number of) consequtive pings above the average, the player will be kicked. If that player is allowed to rejoin is up to you. The advantage of using average ping is that peaks wont get the player kicked (think of updating virus defenitions, someone msn'ing that person - making his farcry minimize, taking a screenshot) (thx for huntsman for pointing out the need for it) 2. Mapfiles with optional ALL The 3 mapfiles are now totally customiziable like this: [mapname] [gametype] <timelimit> <respawntime> <invulnerabilitytimer> <maxplayers> <minteamlimit> <maxteamlimit> (the <> being optional values). This means i could play mp_jungle in assault with a timelimit of 10 mins, a respawn time of 25 secs, invunerability time of 1 sec, maxplayers of 32, minimal team of 5, maximal team of 27 and still have a shot at first flag Basically, its totally customizible but of course, that is all optional 3. total car controll its now possible to controll cars, in basically every aspect the matter (everything from guns and ammo to waterdepth). Of course, boats got the same deal 4. killing spree ended by if u kill some godlike player on a killing spree, u deserve a recognition for it --------- Things beeing considerd for next release ---------- 5. A flag activation timer (thank u Mad for this Godlike idea!). Making flag go active in an optional amount of time. Still, we are afraid this might be a feature in the map itself and ther fore untucheble by us 6. HS kill announcer This is old news but still, it might be funny so were considering it (again thx mad). 7. info bout UR killer Say i kill u and ure a noob. Also, I'd like to add another wish list item. I made it before *kinda) but since you guys are so eager, I thought I would throw it out. In Counter-Strike they had what was known has the CAL.cfg (The leagues standard server settings) that the Clans would exec when they were ready to play a CAL match. Note sure what, if anything can be done for FarCry, but if there was a Command or some kind of server side script that could be ran to setup the servers to a standard League config. This comes to mind for the Clans that run Godlike and use the TK punish. Sometimes we forget to disable it and so in the match, someone might get punished for going over the TK limit. Same is true for rules on how the different clans run the OICW and AG36GL options. Having a standard reset to whatever the agreed FCL rules are, would be great. So We would execute a script, the servers would be set to a pre-define league standard. Once the match is over, we would run another script and the server would be loaded with the original server.cfg. In that script maybe an annoucement or two of "Live on Restart" and then a restart of 5 secs. So there is request #9 |

I think we'd be happy with just about anything. Obviously the shorter the command the better, but anything that allows us to quickly set a pre-define set of rules would be great and then go back to our stanard rules would be ideal |

Godlike dont snipe! Hed be insulted to read this Ey mad, this is what got done: gl_config [filename] wich will load a config file of ure need (u can have as many as u like) wich replaces the one ure normally using. A alternative to this one is: gl_config1 [filename] wich will do the exact same thing but also restart the map so u get full use out of ure new config in one command Next version will be availible tomorrow if things go as planned (also containing the average ping kick that apparently was wanted watch thread for more info |

Once quick question, before you release it.
Does the GL-SSM work with FFA ? I set the OICWs ,RL and AG36-GLs to start with 0 rocket\nades, but it seems that they start will the full amount. It works fine in Assault, is this an Assault only feature ? Or is there some bug I'm getting ? If it doesn't work, how hard would it be to make it work ? |

Well, we dont play FFA at all. So this feature might actually not be working in ffa. All of the gl-ssm is based on assault. Of course, most (almost all) features will work on ffa though. But the one you are talking about might indeed not work, because its based on the player class (wich cant be chosen in ffa). I do remember however that the maximum amount of rockets DID work. But i might be wrong. If its really important to you, i'll look into it. We have been testing all new features for the past 2 days, and the new version will be available tomorrow (ehrmm.. later today that is Hope you like em! (some of them you asked for recently And huntsman!!!! what is that? a 'sniper' rifle?? cya! (back again.. Murdock, you are talking about 'cal' The leagues standard server settings in CS. We tend to include example files in the releases of the gl-mod. Could you (if there are any) give me some reasonable standard settings for FC? It should look like the contents of a server.cfg, but only the variables that need to be altered. If you (or anyone else) could provide me with them i'll put them in the release. Thx |

Niels, Well the Assault stuff is by far the most important. But I do run a FFA server on the side. If it's something easy then great, if it's not, then I'll have to keep the Kerpo scripts, the only problem with them is they seem to have a memory leak or something, has after running full fo 2-3 maps the server\app g0obbles up a bunch of ram, that running without or with the GLSSM doesn't.
I'm a FFA\TDMer at heart, but Assault is where all the action is. So I'm always looking out for the FFA side of the house as well |

Murdock, because i hate rl's as much as you, we added the following:
gl_max_rockets_ffa gl_max_oicw_nades_ffa gl_max_ag36_nades_ffa (these are the max amount of ammo in backpack, in ffa and tdm) and: gl_rocket_damage_factor gl_oicw_nade_damage_factor gl_ag36_nade_damage_factor wich are the damagefactors, and work in both ffa/tdm and assault. Hope that does it for you |

The Farcry League Standard are still getting polished out, but here is what we have so far in terms of rounds, Weapons, and TKs. Bascially we are allowing 1 OICW and\or 1AG36-GL per team, No RLs allowed. Teamkills should be allowed and not punished. Time and respawn limits are the grey areas, but most likely 30 min games and 21 sec respawns. Godlike SSM version 3.0 is released!
After some consideration we decided to call this new version 3.0, hence skipping all 2.:s above 2.1, wich was actually never released. We figure that theres such great features in this new verson that it deserves to pass the 3.0 mark So what is new? This is: 1. Average ping kick By popular demand, we added a ping kicker that does what all pingkickers are supposed to do, namely kick people with generally bad pings. Read all bout how in manual... 2. Added various map settings to mapcycle file Also by demand, we added ability to control a wide variety of aspects of all maps settings, in the mapcycle files. We added (optional) settings for: map timelimit map respawntime map spawn invunerabilitytime map maxplayers (at server) map min team (this results in prewar untill limit is reached) map max team 3. The possibility to load a predefined list of settings wich (we heard) would be great for clanmatches, when wanting to clear server from public settings. The 'standard' settingsfile (according to Murdock) is included in the examples in the package, called 'standard.cfg' 4. Car and boat control To avoid spamming of rockets on your base, why not just set the cars and boats as you like them to be. You can even set the cars waterdeapth making it possible to be just a little more wet than in original settings (or turn the car into a submarine if thats what you like 5. Headshot anouncer and better killing spree functions We added a basic headshot anouncer with the ability to announce public (to all palyers) or to the shooter only. Also the killing spree is improved and it is now possible to only show the spree once (when it ends stating how many kills) or as usual. We also added the last weapon used to the message. Another new feature is the ending of killing spree (so that all can see who killed that godlike player eventually 6. Rockets / nades control improvement its now possible to control rockets / nades in TDM / FFA AND to control their damagescale. 7. Engineer AND scout now also can use flashbangs If you prefer them ahead of nades / smoke Along with script comes a TOTAL PDF documentation with a browseble index and fully preconfigured setup files to make installation totally simple.
