Hey all. I have to say I love Far Cry, and recently re-installed it. I began playing and noticed that the Jackhammer fires very slowly. I found the Shotgun.ula, dragged it out of the archive, unchecked read-only and edited the fire_rate value from 0.7 to 0.3. I then put it back in the archive and started Far Cry. I was disappointed to find that my work had failed.

Does anyone know what I did wrong, or if there's another way to edit the files? Or, if there's a realistic weapon mod?

There are more weapons files that override the individual folders keep looking there are more in there. BTW going online with altered files will get you kick banned in Clan Servers.

Also I cant remember now but I think the values arent seconds so you may need to go up not down.

In the same place you found the Shotgun.lua is a file called WeaponsParam.lua

That handles things like recoil, firerate and reload speeds, even though each individual weapon file has them. Change the numbers in WeaponsParam.lua
