Hello. My 7yr old has taken a liking to Far Cry. I know it's way too violent for her age and the swearing and all...

...which brings me to my question:

Is there a way to turn off the foul language? I've been letting her just run around without much fighting and the sound off, but if I could turn off the bad language in a Config file or something that'd be kick ass.

I know this was asked a long time ago. The answer is that it is possible to redub all the audio but not without a full sound mod.

Thank you very much. I downloaded the trailer for that and checked it out. This may just be the ticket. She mainly seems to like exploring the world, although she's starting to get pretty good at shooting mercs!

Some would probably cringe that I'd let my little girl play a violent game like this, but I firmly do not believe that video games make kids violent... that whole blame game that they do when some kid starts killing people.

The swearing and the occasional lude dialog are DEFINATELY a no-go for her though. So until I find a way to turn off the foul lauguage in Far Cry I thing this should tide her over nicely. Thanks.

well unless she knows how to turn the volume back on i think that is actually a pretty good solution

As for letting your daughter play such a 'violent" game, I am in agreement with you. My daughter was playing the "Evil" video game that always gets blamed when a school shooting happens... Doom II, when it first came out. So far, several years later, she seems fine.
