yeah i just bought Farcry and installed it updates to 158.22 drivers and update Direct x to 9.0c .. i installed the 1.4 patch for far cry .. i have a Inno3d 8800GTs 640 MB Over clocked stock version ... and the Graphics are always on low i change everything to high and nothing works.. please can you help me with this.. i have seached all other forums and i cant find an answer please help me :P
I also had difficulties with the game with the 8800GTS and windows vista. After uninstalling the game, I reinstalled, but instead of using the combined patches, I installed each one seperately from the start. I logged on the game after each patch and every one of them worked (although the detect settings still sets them at 1, very high works when manually set).
Really? I SHOULD be able to play Far Cry on very high, but when I first installed it on my 8500, everything was just blue. I installed patch 1.4 and suddenly visuals were fine on LOW, but still every few seconds it would freeze. I now got a 8600, and it works withouth lag if I set everything on high withouth AA on (if not too much vegatation on map)
I'm going to try this. I hope I'll be able to play it as I should be able to
My problem was like the original poster. No matter what settings I chose, the game would show it with the lowest settings.
I'm not sure if your problem would be resolved. But for reference, I have an Intel dual core 6400, a 8800 GTS 386megs and 2 gigs of ram.
With every turned up to max in game settings, and 4x AA, I was getting 80-120 FPS everywhere. Later I added Vsync (I had to force this on with nvidia settings outside the game) and the game runs at 75 fps and dips to the 50's under extreme combat.
This is due to problems in the nvidia control panel most likely.. I can guarentee that under xp and vista a fresh install of 8800 drivers and Farcry runs just fine on all high settings. I own a gtx and vista and xp and have tried both.
