MP PROBLEM!

When i enter a mp game there is something wrong with how fast the other players are running!
Its like 2 times faster then me.

So its really hard to ever hit someone.

does anybody know whats wrong? Im running with the latest patch, normal broadband connection.
my comp: amd athlon 64 3200+, 512 mb,nviadia gforce fx 5500 ..??...dont know anything about that further.

Are you playing assault or FFA?
In Assault, snipers and engineers run faster than grunts.

what weapon are you carrying?
Some weapons slow you down a lot like the SAW and rocket launcher. Try running with the knife.

Most of the problem is fixed,I changed some settings,but i dont know if thats the reason.The gameplay is still very fast( slower then before),and in assault i cannot keep up running with teammates.
Maybe because of what you explained, the difference between snipers,engineers and grunts.

Can you also tell me how many mp maps there are
in the standard game?
Can i download more maps somewhere which also increase the amount of online m.players?

I am having trouble logging into multy player. When I try to log in it just says logging in and never happens. Can someone help me on this?

Hey ah, I cant log into ubi.com when trying to get on to multiplayer, any tips? It just stays on "Logging into ubi.com".

hey im new here, i just tried to play 'farcry' online but it wont work, it is taking ages to connect to ubi.com if i try and loaad mulitplayer in the game option, and if i come on to ubi.com site there is no way to play it on-line, can someone help me please?

got far cry. excellent game.cant get it to go online though. i dont get the "play now" option. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whenever i try to use multipalyer with xfire i get the UBI login screen from the game, but after entering my info nothing happens...help

If you're having trouble connecting to play Far Cry in multiplayer mode for the first time, two things will solve your problem 99% of the time:

1. Take off the "-DEVMODE" qualifier on your Far Cry shortcut.

What patches have you installed?
You need to install all the patches (1.3 >> 1.31 >> 1.33) in the right order

Hey guys i'm having problems with lanning Far Cry one of my friends will create the server but when people try to log in it says that they need a different ip address or something like that can some one give me step by step instructions on hosting a lan game?

We're totally new to online multiplayer games.
Have OEM CD, patched through 1.33.

We are able to get into "Multiplayer" which starts in an area with a large white "PREWAR" label continuously displayed across center of the screen as we walk all around it.

How do we get out of that area and into where the actual gaming is?

If it says "PREWAR" then you must be in a server. Prewar is a bit pants because it means that you cant start playing untill there is 1 person on each team.
If you click refresh on the server list all the servers will come up.
For your first time I recommend trying FFA (Free for all) or TDM (Team Death Match) as they are better suited for new gamers.
Although if you are after a more tactical and difficult online experience try playing ASSAULT. Which in my opinion is the best game type ever created.
You need to work together with your team to capture as many of the other teams bases as possible (or if your defending, you need to defend your bases)
(Attacking) Touch the flag (indicated by a blue dot on your radar) and it will start ringing. If it gets to 4 rings then it will go off and the point is caputred. If the defending team manage to touch the flag while it is rining then it will stop and you have to touch it again.

Some multiplayer bad habits to avoid:

1. Concentrating on the attacker rather than touching the flag when on defence. I know it's frustrating some times, due to shot registration/lag issues, to knock the attacker out, but if you don't touch the flag before it times out...
2. Throwing nades/dropping bombs on own flag (when on defence)...sounds like a good idea til you kill your last teammate as he's about to save the flag. I actually had a guy do this to me twice in a row and said to me, "get over it nades happen". Fine if he woulda moved his @$$ to touch but nooo.
3. Parking vehicles near own flag/spawn...THINK what happens when a truck blows up. bye bye whole team...
4. Only takes one stickie bomb to blow up a whole door not one for each door. Only takes one to blow up a bridge not 2 or 3. Only takes one to blow up 3 sections of wall, don't need one for each section. Save em for laying on the flag (offence only please)

I know this will fall on deaf ears especially since they combined all the stickies, and essentially made them invisible.

Still love this game, shame everyone moved to on to other games.

lol Veg, be happy there are still noobs to play with. It gets old playing with the same 15 people all the time.
