Isnt the failure of the end of that level a vanila FC bug?
Im getting old, I cant remember the what or whys as to what causes it... Frown

By a quirky twist of fate, I was reading this article at the weekend about Miniguns. 6's comments about tearing up the jungle reminded me of it. Smile

@Cryfan- If you've gotten past the Fort error, I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you continue to have problems, then I'd suggest a fresh install with the cumulative patch.

@Cuz- I am old and losing memories daily, so it's no surprise to me that I cna't remember this bug at all :P

Well now that we're fessing up to our old age, at 49 my memory ain't what it used to be either, but I have a very sharp visual memory. I don't recall any such bug at the end of the Fort level in any patch version of the stock game.

That website about the mini gun tech is very good. The name Vulcan reminds me of the Venom in RTCW, talk about a major shredder there. I laughed at the comments about the Predator movie, and was thinking the same myself as far as ammo and duration of fire.

I must admit though I wasn't mini gun savvy enough to know the other details, a very interesting read. Be funny to see Jessie or Arnold get knocked on their butts by a mini gun with real ammo huh?

I put instructions in the Word document in the root folder of the mod. By default it's the "M" key, but you can change it by editing TheCryEffect.lua.

I just completed the game, and I have to say to anyone who has not tried Poject X please do yourself a favour and download it.
A whole new game with new weapons that are really cool.
Thanks Doc and the rest of the guys/gals involved in this mod.
I am more or less deaf but with my sony sound system I tell you I was ducking a lot in fire fights.
Great sounds and visuals for sure I mean really good stuff!
10 out of 10 for Project x !

I really love the look and feel of project x (here it comes) but I am having a real problem with the river sequence. There is a battle going on around a bend in the river where no one seems to die. The rocket mutant fires point blank at mercs and only knocks them around; they are shooting at him and he does not die. I can't seem to kill any of them either.

Also I keep ending up at the desktop at least once with the game minimized - easy enough to get back but sometimes I get killed before I get back and occasionally, the game is gone completely and I have to re-open it.

I have build 1405 1.44 I think and my rig (un-o.c.-ed):
AMD a64 3200+ 939
ASUS A8V Deluxe rev. 2.00 bios v1009
Kingston pc3200 ak2/1g
G-force 6800GT/256meg AGP
Zalman quiet cpu cooler
Ultra superquiet xconnect psu
Antec lanboy tower
BTC dvd +-RW
190 gig SATA hd

This is a known scripting bug which is in the readme that came with 4.4. I cannot figure out what went wrong. All you have to do is bypass the fight on the shoreline to the left.

Not sure what is going on with your crashes. If you didn't make a new profile for PX4.4, I suggest you do so at the start of the next level. Create a new profile and use Devmode to get to your current level.

Well
Ive played this thhru a couple of times so far and it never ceases to amazee me............On my machine I have an:
AMD 4600+ X2 (939)
ATI x800xt
1024mb RAM
.............and I can run everything at MAX settings without any glitches, crashes, etc.....But on another Machine I have built for my Brother In-Law I have had a few minimal probles..........Their Machine is:
AMD 3200 X2 (939)
eVGA G-Force7900GS PCI-Express
1024mb RAM
.....................and on their machine I had to try a set of different drivers and I had to disable the "Cool & Quiet" feature of the CPU before I could get it to play without error.....I also had to set the over all Video settings at "High" instead of maxxing everything out to detour any crashes.............Im sorry to say though I dont know what drivers I finally settled with, because I have already sent the machine home with them..............

These are just some of what I had to do to make it work for me, maybe it'll help you..........

C YA,

<blush>
I knew that - I just forgot what I read and was freaked by always inding up at the desk top. I had created a new profile. While reading this reply, I glanced down at my task bar and saw BOINC was active</blush>

<Blantant Political rant>
I had set BOINC to run always when I was running the less intensive turn-based games. And, naturally, it was ClimatePrediction that was running which is incredibly cpuy intensive.

For those who are unfamiliar with BOINC, it is scientific project/process that uses your spare cpu cycles to do science. I currently run 6 different projects. On my laptop (the machine I am writing on now), I run Seti@home a scientific area whose goal is to detect intelligent life outside Earth (unfortunately, their data servers are currently down); the other one I run is SpinHenge which supports the research of nano-magnetic molecules.

On my gaming machine I run ClimatePrediction, Einstein@home, MalariaResearch, and WorldCommunity. The programs run on a cycle that you have control over how the time is shared between programs and so on. You can set BOINC to run all the time or only after the pc goes idle for a time.
