Here here...
Nice work here! Notice it still took two shots for the door, with the new limitations that almost seems unfair? How about restircting it to a single shot device but increasing the localised damage to that of a stickybomb so it can take out a wall or door?
Not so sure about this one... What was the thinking? At the moment you have to decide when best to use your sprint, with increased stamina that descision is almost taken away...
Communication with the community? Letting them know about progress and imminent releases? Nah it'll never catch on! LMAO @ the DS vid... Now there is a coincidence DocSEAL/DeathStar....
Sure, right after u and X give each other a frenchie! To the force? You took that vid too seriously Luke... Keep up the good work Doc and team! CuZ |

Maybe BritZ is into make up, I'm into Salt and Pepper, and occasionally........ Just hope they learned as much as I did: Any need for an SP Beta-tester? |

Cmon now..I can't give too many mod features away at once!!! (You might be able to do something like this in the admin panel I spoke of b4)
The standard and most of the custom maps are just too big for current stamina levels. Many people have said, "I hate how I can only run 30 meters and then I'm out." We didn't want to turn FC into a bunny hopping fest though. The stamina cost for jumping has also doubled.
I never said that. I said my work was done. I cannot speak for anyone else's.
Alright, you win. Yo! I'm ya fatha, I'm ya fatha |

For which I read imminent... Which in Far Cry land, means "soon".... And we all know how long "soon" can be! The running isnt that big a prob on most maps on Euro servers but I can see it being a blessing for the likes of "Integrate"... Nice compromise with the jumping! CuZ |

As you know, I cannot give specific details at to what stage they are at nor are my statements to be considered official statements as I am not a Crytek or Ubisoft employee. So I will try to make this sound as unofficial as possible:
The recent work on Far Cry will be introduced to the public "real soon." This is somewhere inbetween "imminent" and the "soon" statements of the past, but leaning towards the "imminent" side re the running: I can see many instances of it in the original maps. I can only speak for assault, because that is all I play: Airstrip - 2nd flag and 3rd flag without a vehicle Dam- All the flags of without a vehicle Dune- All the flags of without a vehicle Freighter- Flags 1 and 3 Jungle- Second flag without a vehicle Mangoriver- 2nd and 3rd flags without a vehicle Looking at that you would say to yourself, "Just grab a vehicle!!," but they are few and far between on a full server. The majority of attackers are hoofing it. |

x- Like I've said b4, I have nothing to prove to you. Do I consider myself "important" to Far Cry? No, of course not. I didn't have anything to do with it's concept, design, development or release. However, since it's release I have consistently strived to help people in the community and try to improve the game. That is what is important.

Doc, This looks like the shot in the arm that Far Cry needs right now. From the preview I have had, these changes (with more to come) will revitalize the game. Thanks for all your efforts.
X: Some of the maps you have made are Far Cry staples. Your contributions to the game are as solid as anyone's. Tearing down the accomplishments of others is demeaning to you and SC. Can you be a bigger man and acknowledge the achievements of others? |

Having been allowed to play-test the latest version of the mod with DocSeal, I must say I am also impressed with many of the changes.
The new OICW grenade aiming/launching system makes it much more of a tactical weapon, rather than an abused 'WMD'. I think this just may be the answer poor Coops was seeking, referring back to the infamous 'To the Noobs' thread. And of course, that wrench is just killer!! It will definitely make people consider going engi a little more often. Many of the changes may be subtle to the casual FC player, but to the hard-core people, the many changes just plain make sense. I look forward to the finished product. Excellent work so far to all involved! Xtencilate, you crack me up man! [760]ParVo |

Well I just spent an hour or two trying out a few things with Doc, including the latest edition of his Mod...
I can honestly say that I am amazed at the level of thought that has gone into the balancing of weapons and other improvements. You can never please everyone, but this is one hell of a step in the right direction. As Parvo says, the forcing you to zoom to fire has been exteneded from what you see in the vid w/rocket launcher to all of the HE projectile weapons, including a further novel addition to the aiming for the OCIW secondary fire. Also if you need more secondary HE ammo you are gonna have to kill someone for it! Here is a holiday snap that as you can see from the typo wasnt posed for. Today I am modeling the snipers outfit with MP5... The changes to running also make hard to get to places more accessible. I am the worlds worst climber, but the Sniper climb near the right hand, 2nd mango attack spawn is cake with these changes. (Yeah, behind the colision wall so respect the rules of the server you play on when this hits the streets...) Which brings me to another point, off at a slight tangent... Anyone ever explored the dock behind the last defence spawn on Mango? Screens to follow but if you can get that far, there is a climbing challange to be found if you follow the coast to the right... One that might even tempt Capt L, Jimbocry or Ggoi into a MP map... Anyway, thanks for the latest tour Doc, I am sure this will be a major boost to FC once released! CuZ |

trying to get an understanding of this.
Is it another SSM or a mod? (either way shouldnt be in the other sections like all others posts are moved? Not at all implying you want more reads in the General Section ;-) ...come on moderators!) In addition, someone mentioned that there is a fix for 1.32 which the community helped Crytek fix. If its in your mod, trying to read between th lines here, why isnt it release to the general community? Please dont tell me we have to run your mod to get the fix (not thats there's anything wrong with your mod) |

@Cuz- "his Mod..." ---As previously discussed, this is not a solo effort. The level of detail you mention goes beyond my ability for modifications. I do know the right people for the job though, and the aforementioned 3up is just one of them.
One of your early reviews of OE betas was one of the reasons I downloaded and tested it myself and now host the public beta, so your praise means a lot to me personally, ty. "Today I am modeling the snipers outfit with MP5.." Although you already state you didn't pose for it lemme say, well, don't quit your day job. The MP5 blends in with the buggy and frankly, your cheekbones aren't high enuff for fashion runway material...course they will do for being shot at on airstrip's runway @Clivey- I will clarify as much as I can- As already discussed in the thread it is both a SSM and a mod. It is a SSM in that the server controls, among other things, all weapon parameters to the client. It also needs to be installed on the client for a proper interface thus making it a mod. The new server browser list, the server admin panel, and the new firing mechanisms mentioned are examples of these. There are more panels and changes in concept/development phase and will be added shortly. The fix for 1.32 is not in the mod, but as Crytek helped create the fix they obviously have it. You will not need the mod to get the fix as they are entirely independent, but I have already tested that the mod works with the fixes. As I also stated before, Crytek is scheduled to release the fix "real soon." (Left intentionally vague.) This message has been edited. Last edited by: DocSEAL, |

Oops... Sry bout that apols to the rest of the mod team, as you said earlier "y" number of talented guys and one dumma$$ to organise
I'm glad you liked the OE review, though I still think i didnt do it justice, but i see Rugg mirrored it pretty much everywhere. lol I am not kidding when I say this mod has got me as excited for "vanilla cry" as OE did for something new. Also, noting the orange2's on xfire... Today, it was early but i pointed out 2 Doc that for the guys we know FC beat it 2:1 Clivey trust us, this isnt an exclusive toy, as soon as it is solid I am sure Doc and his team will release it, and IMHO it still belongs in general as it is designed for general adoption: it will be PB friendly and will restore balance to the force. **** I'm at it now! @Doc i blame the photographer! If you had waited for the eagle I could have given you my new look, I call it Magnum! CuZ This message has been edited. Last edited by: CuZtds_Lst_Stnd, |

It's been a week since last sneak peak and the last couple of reviews talked about the OICW, so...here it is...
The way the OICW nades fire in the original game has always bothered me. The rounds now act like standard impact detonation, but fly faster than the AG36's. Worsening the situation is the fact that they're semiautomatic. This is way out of balance and why they aren't allowed on most clan servers and any league matches. We opted to make them more like the High Explosive Air Burst (HEAB) rounds described here:
While we couldn't make them air burst, we could make it more like the laser guided interaction described above. Those familiar with the single player motar firing will be very used to it. We used that code, changed some cursors, added a delay, and walla... The OICW nade's new firing mechanism. It's not as pretty as Rugg's recent video, but I hope you enjoy it the same. Some stats: - The nades don't have a crosshair unless zoomed in. - There is a delay once zoomed in to fire. This prevents people from just zooming then fire. - Firing instructions: a. Zoom and hold b. Press fire once and hold to get "laser" range. New red reticle will appear above to indicate range. c. Pull black crosshair up and put in red reticle and release fire button. Shot goes right on target d. Once you have the correct range. No reason to re-acquire range. Continue to fire |

I like the firing mechanism. It's identical to the mortar firing in s/p.
Now the explosive projectiles aren't n00b weapons! ---------------------------------- Obsidian Edge Tactical M/P mod for FarCry diesimfanboi, the LOMAC equivalent of Galen Thurber's website |
