About the Project X.

I am afraid that till this day it's hardly been picked up in Europe. Maybe after getting it on a european server it'll get some more attention.

From what I've seen so far (only seen not tested in a actual scrim) there are quite some cool changes clearly balancing things a bit more.

One thing and this is just an observation. Taking away the M249 (only usable when proning)from grunts will probably get quite some resistance. I can appreciate what you've done with it and it's also been explained, but keep in mind this is the gun most grunts have been playing with for over a year and which they've come to love.

Positive things are definitely adding stamina, taking away invisible walls and making it possible to hit people with the wrench. I am not sure with the extra weapon that's been given to the sniper. Seems a bit unfair cause they can get to much more places now. Sniper gun has always been a powerful weapon already. Maybe worth considering giving the sniper gun less zoom and/or removing the extra weapon again? If sniper comes in a close combat situation he'll have to manage with his handgun or knife imho. It's always been a rush to kill someone with one of those weapons.

hey doc. morning. after my much complaining about no one over being on the Project X server, last night the miracle finally happened. and wow beeeaauuuutttiiifuuull. great job. played for about a half hour, then great sadness. . . i think you switched pb on or off and i couldn't get back on the server. i think though it will be popular. cuz when i saw it only one person was one and then by the time i was loaded up and had played for a few minutes there were about 12 people. looking forward to seeing everybody playing again today, hopefully.
no lag. no pb kick. stamina awesome. one question. what will the ping rate kick be on this server? i noticed every one was about 40 or less. anyway gotta go see if anyones playing. and one last time fantastic job!!

Doc-

Played the mod last night for an hour or two. It seemed to run very well. I especially liked the new behaviors for engineers. I also like the more realistic versions of weapons. I hadn't ever played the previous version, as I just started playing FC last week. Nice job man! Just wanted you to know your work is appreciated.
BTW- I laughed my **** off when I got brained with a wrench!

had a game before with someone and it was pretty fun. I only had 3 probs/questions:

1. when moving with sniper rifle the frames flip out and jutter at a very fast speed. it was the same for the other dude playing with me,..i imagine you know about this.

2.you can choose rocket attachments on weapons but they dont fire?... the rocket launcher doesnt fire at all?

3. sometimes i jump and crouch near objects and the screen snaps from standing to crouched rarther than smoothly moving into crouch, is this classic far-cry or something else.. either way urg!

i love the stamina, just right, and the c4 is very cool. need to play on a full server Smile

1) Never heard of this...so no...can you make a movie?
2) The OICW nades and RL don't fire unless you're zoomed in. It meant to be that way. Look at earlier posts in this thread for instructions on use.
3) If I read this right...there are some objects on the maps where if you are on the edge it will automatically make you crouch...is this what you mean?

I'll try to get some peeps on 2nite...hope to see you there.

1) I helped the DarkAngel clan put up the first EU ProjectX server last night:



They play mostly FFA/TDM, so it was good to test the mod under that as well. He was having difficulty getting his mapcycle to rotate so it appears he took it down, but I tested on my server this morning and had no problems, so it is not mod related. I hope we can get it up and running full time today.

2) Ahh yes, the resistance was heavy on the CB forums, but it got back to me that they say differently in private.

3) Taking down the collision walls is not part of the mod. It's an optional script (done by 3up) for all server admins which I choose to run. You can get it here: http://gotfrags.net/zObjects.pak and put in your server's FCData folder. The MP5 in the mod has reduced damage, but it is now the most accurate weapon (because it is a silenced weapon.) It takes many hits to take someone down unless you get a...BOOM HEADSHOT!!! So, people may actually prefer the pistol still as damage has increased short range for that weapon, but decreased at a distance.

@xDRAKE- Thanks for the kudos, but the whole team deserves the credit. I'm the PR guy, so you see my posts here most often. Glad to hear you had fun

urg.. btw.. still working on that in-game video.. ive tried joining a game periodically at different intervals throughout the day.. is nobody playing on the server? :/ I really want to play this mod hehe (awesome news on the europe server)

I didn't know the MP5 doesn't do too much damage. It is a nice compensation for the fact it is soo darn accurate Wink.

Hope too see some euros soon in the Dark Angel server to actually do some real fighting Thumbs Up

After speaking with Cry-Alex this morning, Crytek has decided to further support the modding community by running the recently released mods on their servers:

Hello yes the Dark Angel ProjectX server is back up and useing base maps on map cycle.
However custom maps will be introduced shortly the details off the maps havent been decided yet
but they will be avaliable at farcry community maps.Any new maps details will be posted on the forums. Thumbs Up

It would be nice to see someone to fight against seems all i do is sit in an empty server has anyone actually got the Project X mod?.

i've got it. and yes it does seem like no one else has it. but patience does pay off. when a couple people do join, the server tends to fill up very quickly. it's like people are just waiting for the server list to show someone logged in. once you do play it though you will love it. the features they added are great, no lag, great maps, stamina. simply the best.
hope you get to play soon and make up your own mind. be patient and let the word get out and people a chance to download it.

hey i've been reading some of the post about OE and for the most part usually one of the posts has a link to OE or their download site. i don't know if you have thought about doing this for Project X or if you already do. i didn't feel like scrolling through 11+ pages to see. but just an idea maybe get more people curious about it. OE's seem to be on all different pages not just one's related to them. and yes i do realize that people who are interested in PX are probably reading these pages so what's the point.
it's just a thought.
