Even though i am still playing single player, i also want to play online. But the thing is, when i click the "Multiplayer" option in the main menue, everything freezes. I had to restart my computer. Why is doing that? How do you actually play online then?

Just for the reference, i bought this game. For some reason after i installed it, the game wouldn't play when i put in the play disk. Some kind of protection error would show up instead. So i tried using NoCd patch and then it worked. Does this have anything to do with why i can't play online?

By the way, this game is awsome. This is the only game that is scary and makes you jumpy and keeps you on the edge.

Partner, you need to read the very top post here. It's called a stickie. You are not the the first to ask the same question. You are gonna get no where here talking about no cd cracks etc... If you are smart enough to find out about those you can probably fix your problem by reading the stickie. BTW it is most likely that you have not patched up your farcry install. We are up to version 1.4 now. Hope to see you in Assault servers!

Hello there my freind..
the solution to online play in far cry is simple if you follow this little guide..

download all the patches from the ubi soft site..
you need all of them from 1.1 to 1.4 if you are going to do it in steps
or you could install the big 1.4 accumulative

you need to make damn sure that you place the downloaded patch files in the BIN32 folder of the farcry game, look for it, its normally like this, C:\programfiles\ubisoft\crytek\farcry\bin32
once youve installed the patches
you need to create your ubisoft account
load the game, goto multiplayer, then create account, after you have done that you will be asked for you cd key, make sure its an original that you got with your cd, then enter it...you should have all your servers ready to play..

bare in mind, if you only install up to patch 1.33 you wont be able to join any servers running patch 1.3, so advised goto patch 1.4

handy hint: your farcry icon on the desktop, right click on it and go to the properties, then in the target part.. add this to end "ubilogin yourusername yourpassword"
that automatically then logs you in everytime you click multiplayer... if the servers dont appear straight away, click refresh...

This is incorrect, patch files do not need to be run form any particular folder.
