Retro or moderately older/slower gaming machines can come in REAL handy. For instance, Dungeon Siege II runs like a$$ on high end nVIDA cards (7900GS to any 8800 model) because Gas Powered Games just didn't see fit to release an updated file to update new (NVIDA specifically) cards to run well so I still keep a system with an X800XL handy

This let me play maxed-out quality @ 1600x1200 on Medium

(Game calls machine spec. 'medium', and I'm stuck on volcano pit)

Im happy with this-I built it and I hope it will last a good long while-Im waiting for crysis-I think it will be enough machine for this new game.

I've went through 2 systems while enjoying Far Cry, and I'll be happily reinstalling it on my 3rd system when I get it next week!

XP64 on all of them!

i originaly played FC with a Barton @ 2.4, 512 ram and a Ti4400. then i had a 6800nu, then a 6800U, and then i went A64 with a 7800GT, and then 7800GT Sli, and NOW i run it with 8800GTS Sli with a A64 dual core @ 2.8 with 2 gigs of ram.

1600x1200 16x SLi TAA 16x AF, max settings. it runs not bad
