New game box is really nice. I can run Crysis on all high settings with no problem. Still, best game I ever played is Far Cry, so I decided to see what it looked like now after not playing it for more than 2 years. Good grief ! I've got FPS in the 100s to 200s, and super detail in everything. No wonder there was never a sequal to Far Cry on the PC. It would have never run on those boxes. It tickles me to watch Far Cry load in 5 seconds. Reloads ( when sacked by a Trigen ) are about 3 seconds. This game is still right up there on Crysis heels for technical specs. As for entertainment, well, Crysis doesn't have Val to rescue while driving me crazy, no Trigens, ... maybe better leaves. Heh.

I dont fully agree on the technical bit.

Whilst FarCry on highest settings does look very good (even for todays standards), it doesnt come close to Crysis on:

:: Graphics
:: Physics
:: DX9/10 effects

Farcry is a more cartoony than Crysis (textures arent as good).

Still, the CryEngine that FC1 uses wasnt initially made for gaming - more for demonstrating dinosaurs or something of that nature.

No doubt Crytek applied quite a bit of their FC1 experience to Crysis (pretty tropical islands, guns, explosions, de-ja-vu lol).

However, on a technical level the game engines are years apart.

That said, it looks like the Dunia engine could give the CryEngine 2 a run for its money....time will tell Smile

We shall see. I hope Far Cry 2 pushes the state of the art in PC gaming to its limit and beyond. I don't think Crysis did. I have it
maxed, and it looks great, but it is not 4 years greater than Far Cry. That says to me right up front, by now we should be playing
Far Cry 4 on our PCs, and Jack and Valorie should have married in Far Cry 2 ... had a son and pet Trigen in Far Cry 3 ... and should
find the Jewels Of Opar in Far Cry 4.
