Searched the forum with no satisfactory answers to my queries.

Been editing the player.lua script & the game is to be ignoring the changes. Have renamed scripts.pak. Is there anything else i need to do?

Is it possible to remove the hints in the game, so annoying.

Renamed the CryTek.bik demoloop & the game still plays it, why?
This is one very unusual game to mess around with. It's a bit like windows, does what it wants.

Once you edit a .lua or .cfg file, you have to make it read only before opening the game.
Right click on the file and go to properties and check read only.

Discovered the game will only read the .pak files. Edited the player.lua, put it back into .pak file using winrar & it works, i only adjusted the speed at which he moves. I think the walk speed is too fast.

Now for some reason again (i have reinstalled 4 times in 2 days to fix this prob, gonna have to do it again as i don't know how to fix it) the player will open doors automatically, this is also very annoying & i don't know what i have doen to make it so. He is also wearing armour if i start a new game but just in appearance.

Regarding the demoloop, i just deleted the whole folder.

This game is quite amazing, am loving it, be even better if it kept my config settings. I even went out & bought a new gfx card, a GeForce 7600GS, but my cpu is only an AMD Sempron2400+ ~1.68GHz & 768ddr333 ram. Even on medium specs the game is still spectacular.

I have done that & when i exit the game the read only is unchecked. This is the only app that i have seen do this, apart from a few MS apps.

WTF! (is that allowed?) After i am finished replying my browser is closing, never had that done to me before. I thouht nothing of it the first time but the second... well! What gives?

Discovered the problem with the doors automatically opening. They don't open when i installed patch 1.4. Thought i'd let you know in case anyone else is bothered about those auto doors.
