I made a post some time back about one of the funniest things that happened to me in FarCry. You should be able to find it if you search this forum for "The Crow Incident".
I also posted some screenshots with unusual occurences. Don't remember the title of the thread but you should be able to find it quite easely if you search for the name "Scotty" because I am quite sure I used it in the post. If I remember anything else or experience something new and funny I'll post it here. |

Yeah, be discourage not. I've posted a request for people to post their favorite ambush sites, places where you can lure the majority of the AI to you, instead of fighting on their turf. The post it is in has hit over 100K views, but no takers yet. There are a lot of funny picture threads. One funny thing built into the game is in the beginning of BOAT. Creep up on the tent with the charges, from the top. There is a boulder there. Push it over and it will hit on the end of a plank that has a merc on the other end. He will go flying into the air and die on landing. A lot of times, if you shoot or grenade multiple mercs, especially indoors, they end up in some rather compromising positions. In the final battle room of catacombs is a telephone. Can you find it? As the starter of this post, did you encounter or have any funny situations to share? Cpt Long USA, Ret. |

I still laugh hard when running mercs over with the jeeps. Sometimes they fly really good.

I'm going through a few more times trying to take the weirdest tack I can think of. Got through the first 3 levels just using a pistol and a lot of stealth. In the Carrier level, I took out the heli by crawling out on the walkway all the way around to where it nearly ends. There,
I went prone behind the metal walkway wall, and could just see the heli hovering. For some reason, the door gunner could not hit me, but I could hit him with the pistol. He finally fell out of the heli, and I could jump down and shoot the rubber boat chains and end the level. I found out how to cause a world of respawning in Catacombs. I started that level by climbing up the high ridge, and popping one sniper, one Merc that was over by the Catacombs entrance, and one Merc out by the explosives. Then I just sat there, and let the entire group gather in a bunch right below me. I even let them wander around until they had all gathered in a single bunch. Then 2 rockets and a couple grenades took care of the entire outside mob. I never saw another one anywhere. Once inside, I tried to find a way to do something like that. When I first run in, I go by a Fat Boy and around to a gas cannister. Usually, I stop before the gas cannister and take care of the Fat Boy, but this time I did something different. I went around to the gas cannister, and got all the Trigens coming at me. The gas gets them. Then, instead of shooting the gas cannister, I jumped past it and ran to the room ( autosav ) where there are many more Trigens .. and ran back. The gas got all of them too, including 2 jumpers. I fired a couple shots at the jumpers, but they were weakened. I had to go up and get the gadget I needed (autosav), and then I did the usual with the Mercs from the heli, and then started the last battle by tossing rocks into the room. Seems the rocks get something going , but not the right something, plus I think I missed a couple trigger points earlier by the way I got all the Trigens. I retreated to the machine gun by the pool, and after 5 or 6 Fat Boys came down the hall, I decided I needed to go in the last room and trigger it better. Sure enough, here come the Mercs in white suits, and at least 2 more Fat Boys, and I got all of them with the machinegun . Final room was loaded with respawn ammo. Weirdest of all, as I was exiting the level, Jack says, "This place is loaded with Trigens." I really had it balled up. |

At the end of level Boat, I wanted to avoid a rocket fight on the deck of the trailer, after I blew it up, and Crowe comes flying in with a helicopter. So I looked for the patrol boat that I came with, but found it missing. I then went on a lengthy tour of all the islands, looking for the numerous patrol boats I encountered before. They were all gone. The game must be erasing all the boats everywhere, at that stage.
I was tired of all the swimming and running, so I considered myself very fortunate to find an inflatable boat on the first island. With that, I went all the way back to engage in the rocket fight with Crowe. I still needed to blow up the trawler to initiate that fight. To my amazement, the whole trawler had been erased after my long absence; only the nettings at the side, to climb aboard, were still rising out of the water... |

I vaguely recall that someone may have posted about this before, if so pardno me.
I was using noclip to explore inaccessible areas of some maps the other day. The area of the "Volcano' map outside the crater is interesting, in that there is some considerable detail there that could mot possibly be seen in-game. Also, no part of that exterior is sealed off with "auto-kill" areas, as is the case with most of the other maps. In one spot there is a large, gray and white colored "beach ball" sort of object. It appears to be a sort of "test the physics engine" insert by the mappers, as it behaves (more or less) like a large, moderately heavy ball would, when pushed etc. I am still amazed how much extra detail is built into the far-cry maps beyond that actually necessary to the actual gamdplay. |

That ball is actually part of the map making process. Its interesting how they gave it physical characteristics.
The detail is amazing. There are burned out vehicles, fallen logs, lava flows and falls, paths, everything. Did you find Val out there? She looks a mess. Characters used in cut scenes, or relocated, are placed outside the map playing area. Cpt Long USA, Ret. |

Val?????? Wow! No, I missed her, though I did see most of that other stuff.
Guess I'll have to go look around some more. I may be up late tonight, it's a BIG map. |

LOL Six_Gun, it's like that Crispy critter is fire-farting in the third screenshot! LOL!
