I've got FarCry 1.33 and when I tried patching to 1.4, it said it completed it successfully, but it still says 1.33 in the game. I've done this twice and it still isn't working. Any suggestions?

Does it error out or anything on the install? I have the exact opposite issue...

I tried to uninstall patch 1.4 to play single player and it said the patch was uninstalled successfully but after clicking finish, one of those error reports popped up...

When I start Far Cry it still says 1.4 and I still have all the options for multiplayer. I haven't played online since so I don't know if it works or not but when I try to reinstall 1.4 it tells me I already have a newer version

Anyway, been enjoying the Matto4 mod and haven't had any issues ('cept for that dang gunfire bug)

It seems even a complete uninstall/reinstall may not fix us. So that means there is a good chance one or both of us are S-C-R-E-W-E-D!

copy the patch 1.4 into your BIN32 folder for farcry.. the install it, you should have no problems..let me know

When you uninstall a patch in FC, or even uninstall the game itself, the uninstallation process DOES NOT remove several registry entries....which will prevent you from installing further patches.

For example:
You install 1.4 (which screws up SP by the way!), you then decide to remove 1.4, but later on you want to patch back to 1.4...and the installer wont let you.

Solution > download "Windows Installer Cleanup Utility" and remove the registry entries to FC 1.4 patch, you can then re-patch to 1.4.

Same applies to other patches.

Dave, I noticed that you have given this advice in several posts. It is not required to copy the patch to the Bin32 folder. The patch installer will automatically install itself in the default ..\Farcry\Bin32 directory unless you installed the game someplace else. If so, browse to the correct folder from within the installer.

And Dave, and Ice-T. This thread is from January. I am not sure either of these guys is around anymore.
