How is the online community in the original Far Cry, I realized my computer can handle it and I NEED every Far Cry game,sooooooooo.. The kinds of things I wanna know is, its support, number of games/players online, are maps crappy(obstacle courses etc.) Assault mode sounds fun. And seeing how this is 10 dollars at some places. Bwahahahaha!!!!
The game is definatley on the downswing with numbers of online players.
There are still some online diehards but it is not a large number of players. There are two or three clans still active in the US (not sure about the rest of the world, but I think a few Euro clans still play). It is a close community where mostly everyone knows everyone else. Newcomers are welcome though as the fanbase for Far Cry PC has always been a little older and perhaps more mature than the console crowd.
There are really excellent maps. But they are well known to regular players so don't expect to be on an even footing with veterans. It will take some practice to compete. Most Assault maps that are played these days are of the smaller more intense variety due to the difficulty of getting a 8 vs 8 game. 4 on 4 is considered a good crowd.
