(Posted this in the Mod forum, not much activity in there so thought I would repost here..
Before I research how to make my own custom skin playable in Far Cry multiplayer, what software should one use to create the skin? I am assuming popular art packages like Photoshop can be used to create the images and save in a format recognisable by Far Cry? update:- I did some further research and understand I can use the DDS plugin for Photoshop to make my skins. Another question - if I create or modify a skin, will it be straight away visible to other online players in FFA as I have designed it, or would they first need my new skin file to install on their own computer to make it appear? What about servers which 'allow' custom skins - does this mean 'all' custom skins will be visible to all players (server and client), regardless of whether each player has that exact skin installed in his FCData folder or not? Cheers for any help. |

My understanding of custom skins (limited lol) is that if you create a new skin, only you will be able to see it on a MP server.
For others to see the skin, they will need the new/modified file that you have produced. For further modding questions, you really are better off posting on the Crymod forms (www.crymod.com). Its a modders dream over there |
