Whats your theory ? Explanation etc. ?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NclOOQ4iZDo I think its important that Juliet told Eliott to stick to the same bearing Ben gave Michael. That Eliott saw Flight 815 crash fits to the time related properties of the island which we know since the recent episode of season 4. BUT why are things different after THIS crash ? Why was Lisa alive this time and why does Eliott awake at a different location ? My theory is that we and Elliot didnt just had a brief look into another line of time but another reality aswell. A reality in which Eliott made some other decisions than the ones we witnessed in his flashbacks. Remember what Jack said back at the Black Rock near the end of the game. "You either decide to go left or right" "There is no fate" The Eliott we saw in the end did things differently. He obviously didnt betrayed Lisa in that hotel lobby. He never went up to Savo's office. Never took that photo. Lisa was never captured and killed and they both left that hotel on that day ,without their story, without the photo on the camera that made Savo's killer get after Eliott. As they were travelling together , Eliott also got a different seat number aboard Flight 815, hence Eliott awakes at the beach instead of the jungle. The whole storyline , with Eliott taking part in the important events on the island never happens. Logically, as his hunt for his identity never happens now that Lisa is with him, Savo's killer was not aboard the plane. Eliott does not need to search his camera. You'll get the point. In this reality Eliott becomes one of the "unimportant" side-story losties on the beach. This could also be the explanation on why we dont know him from the series. Maybe because this other "better" reality is the one we know and follow in the series. What we witnessed in the game is another reality in which Eliott went right instead of left at a very important point, with catastrophic consequences. But his reaction to seeing Lisa suggests that this is not a different Eliott from another reality but the same we followed through the game. Just like Desmonds mind travelled through time. Eliott's mind travelled into this different reality. Just as if the island is giving Eliott a second chance by correcting his fatal decision in that hotel lobby for him. |

Thanks
I believe this could explain why the producers gave contradictory answers on wether the game is canon or non-canon to the series. They mainly said that it is non-canon. Which would be absolutely true if my theory is correct, but would still be not really non-canon either. This fits exactly to their style. Nothing in the game is a 100 % work of the programmers fantasy. The magnetic room for instance is based on original concept arts they recieved from the producers of LOST. So its not fantasy but the real thing that was hidden behind the concrete wall in the Swan and therefore definitely canon. Maybe they originally planned to let the Losties enter the room in some episode and then changed plans ? Maybe we will see this room in the series one day. It may be destroyed now but we could still see it in a Ben flashback or something. That would be really cool I really would like to know what knocked that huge magnet to the side. Somehow i have a feeling that the "incident" was not a accident. I bet the magnet and with it the seal to the magnetic anomaly underneath it was damaged on purpose....by the hostiles. Propably to prevent that the Dharma Initiative plays around with something they dont understand or that they may even harm it. |

interesting take...but the whole premise of the show(some fantastical island) is ridiculous.
