I can't get past Pacific Fortress (Rabaul)stage. Any suggestions

I think there are other threads on this mission.... you will have to look through th e15 pages of **** tho,.. good luck

I am also stuck at pacific fortress.....can anyone of you give to me some tips on how to pass this stage???

I got problems in this stage too, could somebody help me?

I've been trying to pass this stage but its either I got shot down or my bombers got shot down. I followed the tips and fired my entire supply of rockets at the planes on the runway but none hit. one pass over the airstrip and my plane started to smoke, and then I had to waste valuable seconds in repairing it and this happenes at least 3 times. I tried taking out the AA guns but that means I have to forgo the planes on the runway.

its the same problem that I have again. I replayed everything and got all ace ratings. I have also complete "Heroes of the Pacific" entirely on Ace rating. When I replay Blazing Angels, I'm stuck at Rabual yet again. The rockets just wont hit the planes on the runway accurate and its hard to dogfight because of the AA flak which quickly takes out my plane. I have upgraded my Consair and gotten the Ace title. But i still till now could not pass rabual.

do's anybody know how to get past rabaul ?

OK, i do, really your first priority is the AA guns and FIGHTERS, if you get the fighters when there on the ground your laughing, just pretty much stay calm and shoot, rockets are a big help, and try to take down fighters with rockets, it is a very needy skill to have.

If the fighters get off the ground then get frank to sort them. Hit all the big AA positions. Not the tanks/trucks that fire AA. Also theres a control tower that needs to be rocketed. Once thats done down all the fighters and then get the tanks/trucks and objective complete. Then rocket the ships and the other AA positions around the city bit with the bombers help.

Here's what worked for me...
1) As soon as the mission starts break right over the mountains so you're coming in on the right side of the base.
2) Take out the AA site on that side with ONE rocket, aiming between the two bunkers will do this. (This also works for the planes on the runway.) Break left towards the runway.
3) Continue your pass and target the planes on the runway. You should be able to take all of tham out with 3 rockets. You just have hit between each pair of planes. (Avoiding the AA emplacement on your left)
4) After passing over the runway continue out towards the water then make a hard u-turn on the other AA emplacement at that end of the runway. (You might try popping off a couple of rockets at those pesky mobile AA guns on the tarmac at that end as you make this pass.)
5)Break right over the water after passing over the runway and bring your guns to bear on new planes on the runway. Rockets and guns as you strafe the planes then climb like a bat outta hell to avoid the AA behind the control tower.
6) Drop your speed and your nose then rocket the AA on the left side at the end of the runway. Climb, break left and target the AA behind the control tower. BE CAREFUL, there are two AA emplacements back there. Try to take them both out in one pass if you can.
7) Break right, avoid the control tower, and strafe the new planes on the runway. Remember, any planes that get off the ground will be targeting you until the bombers arrive.
That should give you a pretty good start on finishing the mission. Good Luck. Hope that helps some. Live long and prosper.
