I can't clear this mission. My plane won't take any pictures. Anybody got some hints for this mission in the desert.

You gotta take pictures of your own 3 ships first, before heading out to the sand.

Line them up from far away, slow your speed to minimum, and start taking the picture as soon as you're in range. Acutally taking the picture will take some time, and if you get too close (out of range) while you are still taking the picture, it won't complete.

Going too fast, or not staying in range while the picture is being taken, will result in no picture.

What the hell, I Can't even get a camera interface up while flying towards the bases. How the hell do you take these bloody pictures? I've been flying around this freakin' desert for 2 hours now trying to take friggin' pics of these stupid bases. I fly as slow and level as possible from as far away as possible and I fly over the base without even getting a carema interface. HOW DO I BEAT THIS LEVEL???????

'follow the beeping sound and point your nose toward the base that should ...did for me anyways'.....

As I fly into the sandstorm at low level and low speed all I hear is the radio chat and occassional comments about hearing a plane - I've never heard the beeping sound. I guess that is some kind of RDF? How do I get this to function. I ought to have run out of fuel after 3 hours of tarting around the desert and only having found two bases. I could have learnt a foreign language in that time. Aaargh.

Where am I going wrong?

Listen for the beeps, Grasshopper.

2 green LED-style bars will appear in the lower right.

The upper bar is distance
The lower bar is angle
(I think)

The bars "fill in" from the center, you need to point the plane in the direction and travel far enough for both bars to be green. Start with the angle bar...get the angle right, then as you fly on, the distance bar will clue you in...

Time for you to leave, Grasshopper.

I went through hell trying to figure that one out, too. If you fly straight after photographing the ships you will here what sounds like beeping Morse code -- the RDF you mentioned below. Keep an eye to the right side of your screen and you will eventually see two green lines consisting of small green squares. As you move your plane one direction or another slightly, the number of bars will either increase as you point towards the target, or decrease as you point away. One way to get on track is to just keep going straight until the game flips you back into a direction. That will usually put you at least in general line with the first target. Keep going straight until you hear the beeps, then look for the RDF on the right side of your screen.

This is one of the things about this game that I detest. It should not be this hard to learn or play a game.
