Has anyone made it past the Battle of New Georgia? I've read that a few people are stuck just like me. Find a solution yet? The 172nd keeps getting killed, and no matter what I try I can't help them. I've tried taking out the bombers, the anti-aircraft guns, tanks, everything, and they still die. Please Help!!!

Take out all the tanks first, it is top priority.
Also, If you have not done so already, beat the arcade mode in whatever plane you are using and get the upgrades, that should give you an edge with better speed and firepower.

Take a plane that is a little slower but has better maneuverability. The default plane is too fast and you will go too far out of the way. Go straight towards the first squadron that you are to defend and keep flying in tight circles over the squadron. Keep your squad in a defensive position so they dont leave you. Then take out every plane that comes to bomb the squadron. Dont worry about going anywhere else until youve defeated every plane that comes at you. Once you do, it will tell you to go to the other squadron and it is a piece of cake to complete the remainder of the mission.

I've been a gamer for a long time, and most of the time I consider myself to be more than adept, but this game is frustrating the **** out of me! For me, it boils down to one thing. INCONSISTENCY! At any given time in a mission you'll know what's going on for a short bit, then all of a sudden you WON'T. The radio chatter is way more ANNOYING than helpful, and the STUPID wingmen aren't worth their weight in BULLETS as far as I'm concerned. I would have preferred to have been without them altogether, rather than them being so unhelpful. By the time you're even able to use them, you don't even really need them, and when you REALLY need them to do their required "area of expertise", THEY'RE FRIGGIN' USELESS! Now I'm even having trouble with the stupid game freezing after I've failed an objective. I'm a little more than disappointed in what could have been a great game. My advice to anyone thinking about buying this game is simply this....DON'T! You'd be better off dropping $60 on BUBBLE GUM!

I don't know about you guys, but I freakin' hate it when a game such as this starts out to be fairly good, with a moderate amount of added challenge as the first few missions progress along, and then all of a sudden you would think you were playing one of the HARDEST, MOST FRUSTRATING MISSIONS EVER IGNORANTLY CONCEIVED IN ANY GAME EVER, with no help from ANYONE or ANYTHING ELSE IN THE ENTIRE GAME! I'm sorry , but I believe in a game GRADUALLY increasing in difficulty as you go through it...not just dropping insane amounts of **** on you all at once and out of nowhere! I think Sony should watch out for game companies that develop these kinds of games that, for the most part, just make the Playstation 3 system look bad. They've had enough issues with shortages and such without one of the launch titles making things seem worse for those of us fortunate to have gotten a PS3 to begin with. For anyone thinking of buying Blazing Angels I give you this advice. Take your hard earned 60 bucks, go out with your friends, take a helicopter ride, go to the zoo...ANYTHING...just don't waste it on this game!

This was a frustrating level, however, I finally passed it! Here's how I did it; I flew to the first island, blew away all the tanks before the wave of bombers came in, then worked on the bombers until they were all gone (you have to kill them all). Once that was done, went over to the adjacent island and all you have to do there is blow away all the tanks.

Thanks for the help guys, although im still a bit confused.....
From what ive gathered we have to upgrade the bomber in arcade mode, then, in the mission go for the planes first or the tanks ?????

I'm playing this on Wii and have been stuck trying to kill the tanks forever. Where are they? are they the ones with the green markers? if so, I thought green represented good guys. I understand I have to use a slow, agile plane so that's been covered, but any help finding the tanks would be appreciated.

thanks.
