Hello Luca,
I finally determined how to win the Rabaul battle.
1. While in opening scene and approaching the mountain ridge, order Frank to attack (press 3)so that he will be over the air field when the cut screen returns.
2. When the cut screen returns, gain some altitude and slow your plane as slow as possible. Use your rockets to destroy the front/first aa guns on the left and right of the airfield. Don't worry about the planes already taking off from the strip.
3. Slightly turn your plane so that the air strip is no longer in view. Then quickly turn back toward the air strip and the "spawn planes" will appear. Use your rockets and take them all out as best as you can. If you miss any, try to shoot them down as they try to take off.
4. Repair your plane if necessary at this time (press 1). Use your rockets and take out as many aa guns, tanks, trucks...ect. as you can.
5. Keep fairly close to the front of the air field and keep checking for the second flight of "spawn planes" to appear. When they do, use you rockets again to take them out on the air field. If any get away, follow them and shoot them down as quickly as possible.
Return to the air field and start taking out as many targets as you can, including the tower. The "spawn planes" will stop appearing, and you can relax (finally) while taking out the ground targets.
Your next objective will be to destroy their ships and aa gun positions farther inland.
I hope this helps someone out there that is having a hard time with the Rabaul mission.
