I was kind of disapointed and annoyed that somebody at Ubisoft didn't read the history books.

The 18 Brewster F2F Buffalo fighters, that played a brief part at The Battle Of Midway defending the island, are noticable by their absence.

To those not in the know about WW2 fighters, the Buffalo is notorious for being the worst fighter of WW2, being overweight, underpowered, poor manueverability, poor armament, amongst other problems.

Ironically, it is also the most sucessful fighter ever built, thanks to the Finnish aces and poor Soviet pilot training / aircraft design, with a 40:1 kill to loss ratio.

The Buffalo was flown by the Dutch, Australian, New Zealand and British against the Japanses.

Despite the overwhelming handicap of flying Buffaloes, some allied pilots did manage to even shoot down the odd Japanese fighter and achieve a 2:1 kill to loss rate over the skies of Burma, Malaya and Indonesia.

Having flown the Buffalo in "Battle Stations Midway", where they've kind of toned down (up) the handling foibles to that of the F4 Wildcat,
I would have liked to have a go flying it in "Blazing Angel".

Anyone else out there wish that they'd put the Buffalo in the game??

Just managing to shoot down a Zero would count as an achievement.

Well..

What did you expect from an PS2/XBOX flight sim? They have allways been nothing more than Quake style shoot-em-up eye candy games..

And the flight modeles are so dumbed down that anyone can fly the plane with no understanding what so ever of how to fly a plane..

If you want a little more realistic feel.. Try IL2 on the PC..

I just picked up a copy real cheap..

I can belive I have not tried IL2 sooner!

Been a big CFS3 player for years..

Never got into IL2 in the past beause you could not add 3rd party planes..

But I just saw that there is a group of people that found a way to modify and add planes to IL2..

So I thought I would give it a try..

WOW!

It blows CFS3 away!

Granted nothing is going to be perfect.. but IL2 is much closer to realism than this flight s.. I mean game

Buffalos are in there, and two versions of them are user flyable.
