Please help get me to land the plane in order to switch planes. The plane just wants to go it's own way and it has been going on for about 2 weeks. Please help. Every one have a great holiday season and a happy, healthy, and rewarding new year. Gary.

I gave up. This is in Guadalcanal mission. The stupidest thing ubisoft could have done, was made a great game stupid by making one level as nearly as impossible and frustrating as can be. STUPID. Loved the game until hit this level, been on it for months, finally ejected and sold the pos on ebay so whoever bought it, sorry, your in for making yourself stupid and dumber and ****ed off at the world. I know people are completing this level, thats great. I can handle better if I could save the mission just before if I needed to walk away for a few days, but no, gotta kill all the landing crafts in nearly impossible ways while being chewed up by enemy you cant turn on and fight, anyway, i feel better now, have fun getting gray hair trying to beat this level, i am done with it. Almost as bad as farcry 1 at the end, have to push that chair into the door, etc, STUPID. Not buying farcry 2 because of that. Heard it not as good as 1 anyway. ubisoft blows. Merry Xmas, Hallijua, Wheres the tylenol...

Thank you for the reply. I am sorry that there was so much trouble in the game. It is very smart to know when to walk away and move on.

it took me loads of tries to do it but i did eventually. It's a bit tricky to control it but i did it eventually.

Sorta kind of spoiler if you haven't done Guadalcanal mission

When you do land you switch to a torpedo bomber and own the ships that flakked you. LOL!

@ Gary here's my advice:
I got it!!!! Finally, I searched back a few threads and found some good advice. If your having trouble landing at Holding Guadalcanal the best advice I've got is to turn the controls over to arcade. Sure the flying is a little hookey, but hey so is flying without a rudder! It took me about 5 tries after I set the controls to arcade. Here's what I did, as soon as the flak hits,
1. Drop the gear (otherwise, if your like me you'll forget to later)
2. Get the plane level and put the throttle all the way to the firewall.
3. Keep the runway marker on your right at all time. I tried to keep the green arrow marking the hanger just off screen. Here's the dirty little secret: That arrow is in the center of the runway, DON"T AIM RIGHT FOR IT.
4. When you make landfall, you'll just start catching fire. You can start gradually turning to the right here. I tried to keep the oil tanks at the end of the field off the right nose.
5. As you start your turn begin to throttle back and scrub speed and altitude. You must hit the runway, even being just a hair short crashes you.
6. Try to bring it down as soft as you can and as straight down the center as possible. There are four trucks on fire that you must dodge. If your tails not on the ground you can't steer and will explode when you hit them.
7. Throttle all the way back and pull up to stop. After the plane stops you will get a message that says hit (button) to switch planes. For me (Wii) it was 1 and it worked first time. Others on Wii have had that same message, but have had to hit -.

use the hurricane II to get through the first part and then when i tried to land , i did it first time and aced the mission. But that's probably because it's the second time i've done this mission as i'm stuck on the stupid s****y mission known as the top secret mission so i'm going back through the other missions to try and ace them. You should use the hurricane II as it has 4 cannons which have more power than machine guns.
