Just downloaded the trial today and have been enjoying learning the game. As a Heroes of the Pacific Ace, I find the game easy to grasp, with Excellent graphics. However the trial seems to be an Xbox trial adapted for PC. The audio track is the give away, "use the left controller"?
I was wondering if in the actual PC game if there is something similar to HotP's Pro controller mode. Where the joystick control is more intuitive?
I have seen some complaining over joystick problems in other threads here, and wonder if the Logitech throttle issue has come up. I have logi3DExtremepro, and the trial at least is not recognizing the throttle. It in fact sees the joystick z axis twist (which should just move the rudder, not roll the plane) as the throttle slider. Using a button instead of a slide doesn't really get the job done, as soon as you release the button the throttle seems to go back to center line.
Also, is there a way in the trial to not start at the training day every time I restart it?
Otherwise, great looking game, seems very playable, with a few things that need to be ironed out.
As it is, we will be forming Squadrons at The Tempest Union in PC and Xbox. TTU already has Heroes of the Pacific Squadrons on all platforms.

I agree. The joystick conrols appear to be adapted from a console game pad and are all messed up, making an initial negative impression on me. I think that if gonna have a flight sim for the PC, the joystick should be the default control setup, not game pad or keyboard.

I can't get the game to load...anyone else have a problem with it?

What happens is I click on the application, and the CPU usage increases to about 30% and then nothing. The checkapp.exe runs for half a second and then it never starts. I've restarted, updated drivers, meet all recommended system requirements. I'm at a loss though it looks like a killer game.

game loads and runs for me ,,, but joystick if foobared. From what I've read its across the board. I mean, I would totally buy this game IF I COULD USE MY JOYSTICK. I tried to run the patch to see if that would fix, but it would not run because I don't have the full version. Sorry UBI but I won't buy a game that the demo won't even work. If I can make this work I would buy it in a second.

when I start the training day senerio, I cant see anything, there are black bars at the top during the video but a gray haze where the actual game should be, so I cant see what I am doing. I have the settings perfect for my comp. Can anyone help me?

So, apparently this is The Demo Thread... and there is no mention of The Patch being applicable to Demo... The Demo is also not supporting joysticks or remapping thereof, as you know... the Demo can NOT be played (cannot be FLOWN) in the configuration it was released in... So, is there to be a patch for this Demo?
The released patch does not execute on a Demo installation, you know.

Basically im having the same problem as 'tandrew' - I installed the demo fine, opened it up and loaded the training mission, but when i click 'Continue' i can just see a blank grey hazy screen, the subtitles appear fine at the top, and i can hear everything cleary, i can even fly the plane but can't see bugger all! Any help would really be appreciated... im stumped - I have a pretty schoddy system so wouldn't be suprised if that's why?

Same thing is happening for me where the joystick controls are all over the place. I'm also using a logitech extreme 3d pro.

Is it possible to reconfigure controls in the demo as even my keyboard controls seem messed up? I've looked at the key mapping but didn't seem to be able to change it.

I'll not buy unless i can test it. Spent far to much on far too many buggy games recently to get stung again. Any further info would be appreciated thouhg.

Did download the demo today. And..hahaha...how stupid can someone be to release a demo..to promote a game. that are so many buggs in it. hahahahahahahahahaha i can only guess how the real game is. This i will sure not buy. Thanks for the demo to show what a **** it was. And by the way..kick that person who said the demo was ready to be relesed. He cant do his job right. I have many ubisoft games. that do work. So i know you can do better. will go back to IL2 again.. that work

had the same problem but installed the directx that came with the demo and it worked fine after that

Hi there, have you got to fix your problem? and if yes, how exactly?? I'm having exactly the same thing happening here and my PC should theoretically run the game fine and smoothly. Any help or advice would be highly appreciated.

Downloaded Demo a few days ago, my Logitech Extreme 3D PRO works just fine, bought the game this morning, the joystick doesn't work anymore.

Had the box in my hand and was going to purchase it, but I've been burned too many times before. Tried the demo first and all I can say is......worst demo ever. Who in their right mind makes a flight sim where both the demo and full version don't even work with a joystick properly? Good lord.

I Suggest you all stop being so cheap and buy the full game!! never underestimate the game through a frickin demo!!!

I've got it on Xbox 360 and it's such an awesome game!! and the graphics are amazing!!!

Ubisoft have done a brill job with this one...

It's so rare these days to find a Flight Simulator!!

PC Game sux donkey pecker....No joystick support for any joystick I have found....installed patch now my sidewinder 2 will not work at all....Great game to be such a trainwreck....graphics seem to be good but suppoert totally SUX

I've just downloaded the demo also. It runs brilliantly. The graphics are beautiful and the game is great fun. I also cannot get my controller to work but it can be played fine with the keyboard only (mouse is a waste of time). Keys to use are: WASD, arrow keys, shift, alt, space bar. Its quite difficult to aim though.

UPDATE......Game is a total success. The new patch has allowed my joystick (MS Force Feedback) to perform excellently. One thing I am still not understanding is why the program defaults to inverted X axis.....Overall the game is outstanding next time around maybe making in flight cockpit views would take the game to the next level.
