I never realize that there was another WWII flight game came out last year called that. Howw was it compre to BA? Now that I know if it is equal or even better I might get both.

[If the Rainbow6 novel is like the game it would end in Chapter14 with a female voice saying "Mission failed. A hostage was killed"...]

Most regulars here know I am a big fan of Heroes of the Pacific. The games a very similar in some ways and different in others. Developed by IR Gurus and distributed in the US by UBI, Heroes is also an arcade flying game of WWII (of course in the Pacific). Solo game has a Campaign of Ten Islands made up of 3 to 5 missions each.
Planes are unlocked by completing missions and are upgraded by spending points awarded by completing specific objectives.

There are more players online for PC than Blazing, and you can start a game by youself, with a few AI's, and others can join the game late. There are also times, like BA when you cannot find anyone online, and there are no dedicated servers for Heroes either. There are several modes of online play Dogfight, Team Dogfight, Scratch One Flattop, Capture the Flag, and Fox and Hounds, something like a cross between seek and destroy and tag.

There were a few, nothing like Blazing's, joystick issues, and sim fans think it is too arcade.

I would recommend you vist the Forum at http://www.heroesofthepacific.com/forum/ to read of some of the issues and some of the positives about the game.
There might still be a free trial download at gamespot.com

nice screen shots. If some people think its to arcade like then that sounds good to me. Less bs and more fun. The box to my ba game is stuck in the drywall of my house because i threw it and was pissed of. I need a new game. lets start a grouchy ba forum.

I thought all BA forums were grouchy forums.
Actually, I have been having a good time with BA, WHEN I can find an online game. My Logitech extreme 3DPro works well after the second patch, so I have few complaints. Except, nice game release for Blazing UBI.
The problems with joysticks and other PC issues guaranty Blazing Angels will be a cult game, gradually picking up players over the next six months until it reaches a point similar to Heroes, where it has some 200 or 300 regulars.
Heroes started slow, I believe, because of poor promotion by the distributor, UBIsoft, no dedicated servers, and poor support with no patches.
Heroes came with a cockpit by the way, but few use it. The graphics are so cool I want to see them. There is also a follow/target cam that can be helpful but is not as neccessary as it is in Blazing becuase of the Large Directional arrows to target. You can see the heads up in the screen shots, giving elevation and speed and a minimap/radar giving posistions of all players.
Anyhoo, thought I could give you a little more information about Heroes.
Lets keep the flaming and bashing out of this thread, or they may delete the whole thing (they have before), and no one will see the cool Heroes screens.

Sigh... problem is that I can't find this Hero game in any of my local stores. Not gonna order anything online so I guess I have to wait for local 2nd hand deals.

Thought I'd bump this up as Blazing's life support is being turned off as a reminder of a pretty good arcade flying game. I hope they don't delete this, the game was distributed by UBI in the US.
The online PC play continues to grow, almost a year after release. This is game BA was modeled after.
While support is as weak or non existent as BA, the forum listed above is strong and capable of answering almost any questions. The Devs (not UBI) actually turned moderation of the forum over to the gamers.

Thought I'd bump this thread one last time as the IR Gurus Devs have returned to the Heroes Forum http://www.heroesofthepacific.com/forum/ to announce progress on the sequel and get input from gamers.
Now that is how developers should act. Kudos IR Gurus!

No, there are no screens as yet still, aways from that. They are also being a little secretive about story line and loocation, probably Europe, don't know. Eventually there will need to be beta testing done by current gamers. Sounds like they are modeling planes and looking for input on choices.
As for Blazing, met up with ishanssade online the other day, had a couple of games, with one other guy, a new one to me. Ishan said he had met quite a few new players online lately.
He has been playing the solo game a lot and has gotten scary good.
