Hello, I'm new in ubi.com Chessmaster's forum, and this is my first topic. Chessmaster works with a powerful engine, but is it enough to train serious players and even GMs and IMs?

It's powerful enough for players of all skill levels.

However, Chessmaster has a broader audience than just IMs and GMs. It's powerful for all levels of players, but it has many things that appeal to chess players of all skill levels.

While other programs (such as Fritz) may be advertised by professional players, they don't have many features for beginning or intermediate players.

Here's what Chessmaster includes:

  • Strong engine
  • Wide selection of tutorials.
  • Chess database with Famous games
  • Different personalities to play against.
  • Ability to set up positions
  • Openings practice
  • Training mode
  • Tournament Play
  • Online Play/Correspondence chess
  • A Puzzle section
  • Chess variants
  • Mini games

So, in answer to your question, you can have both useful training and lots of fun in Chessmaster.

Hope this helps! Smile
