If I install and activate my cd-key on my laptop computer, can I then uninstall it on the laptop and then install it on my desktop? If I do this, will I have to activate my cd-key on the desktop? Basically, will I be able to uninstall it from my laptop, then install it on my desktop and be able to play online games on the desktop?

I know what you're trying to ask, but before I answer, let me be perfectly clear:

The license for Chessmaster is for one computer only. If you want to install Chessmaster on more than one computer, you must buy another copy of Chessmaster for each computer!

That being said, you can transfer Chessmaster from your laptop to your desktop... but you must remove it from your laptop (as you indicated).

Awesome, thank you for your quick reply.

I hope that I will have no problems removing it from my laptop, then installing it on my desktop, and be able to play online games with my friend; otherwise I'll be very upset seeing how I inquired about this first in this forum.

Thanks again.

You shouldn't have any problem... I've done what you're describing myself.

By the way, I didn't mean to sound gruff; but anytime this question comes up, it's best to remind everyone that you're not purchasing the software, just the right to use it... Smile

Ok, so I've uninstalled it from my vista laptop running the autorun.exe as administrator and removed it from my laptop, then I installed it to my desktop, auto-updated it, but when I go to the play, online, after I enter my cd-key, I always get "Timed out...". I've tried it 4-6 times already.

So what am I doing wrong? Is the cd-key in the format of "xxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx" including the dashes? Does it matter if they are all upper case or not? I don't get it?

Is it because I first installed it on my laptop and first entered my cd-key there? I thought this was supposed to be do-able?

Is there something you have to reset on your servers?

Its okay about the gruff part.

Please help!

No, nothing to do with Ubisoft servers.

I would suggest entereing the CD-Key in all uppercase, including dashes. Perhaps you accidentally typed in 0s (zeros) instead of Os (uppercase os)?

As I've mentioned before -- this can be done, as I've done it myself, when I transferred it from my old computer to my new computer.
