Hey, I just thought I would point this out so something might be done about it.. The advice text reads:
"The Chessmaster recommends: Queen to f6. Analysis: You move your queen to f6, which moves it to safety, attacks Black's pawn at e6, and blocks Black's king. , which checkmates your king. You move your king to a8, which . , which checkmates your king. You move your king to a8, which . Black replies by moving rook to h8, which isolates your pawn at h3. You move your knight to c3, which threatens Black's pawn at a4. , which checkmates your king. You move your knight to b5, which threatens checkmate (knight captures pawn), triple-forks Black's pawn at e6, Black's rook, and Black's pawn at c7, and creates a passed pawn on h3. As a result of this sequence of moves, you win a queen and a pawn for a queen. In addition, Black's mobility is somewhat decreased. Also, the development of Black's pawns is a little weaker." This is confusing because this doesn't make any sense according to the game board, and there are many grammatical errors. The game: For most of the moves I was taking the Chessmaster's advice.. the moves were as follows: 1. c2-c4 e7-e6 2. e2-e3 b8-c6 3. d2-d4 f8-b4+ 4. c1-d2 b4xd2+ 5. b1xd2 g8-f6 6. f1-d3 d7-d6 7. g1-f3 d6-d5 8. O-O d8-d6 9. c4-c5 d6-e7 10. e3-e4 a7-a5 11. e4-e5 f6-g4 12. a1-c1 h7-h5 13. a2-a3 e8-f8 14. d1-e2 a5-a4 15. d2-b1 g4xh2 16. g1xh2 h5-h4 17. e2-e3 h4-h3 18. g2xh3 h8-h5 19. f1-g1 a8-b8 20. e3-f4 f8-e8 21. g1xg7 e7-f8 I don't know if this is something that has been run into before, but it doesn't appear that way, so I was just raising a flag. Thanks. |

1.) Next time post the game in the PGN format so that people can easelly copy and paste it to their programs.
1. c4 e6 2. e3 Nc6 3. d4 Bb4+ 4. Bd2 Bxd2+ 5. Nxd2 Nf6 6. Bd3 d6 7. Ngf3 d5 8. O-O Qd6 9. c5 Qe7 10. e4 a5 11. e5 Ng4 12. Rc1 h5 13. a3 Kf8 14. Qe2 a4 15. Nb1 Nxh2 16. Kxh2 h4 17. Qe3 h3 18. gxh3 Rh5 19. Rg1 Rb8 20. Qf4 Ke8 21. Rxg7 Qf8 2.) I'm guessing you didn't read the FAQ's post and didn't install the patch, because otherwise you would see this advice which makes much more sense. 3.) I don't know what are you trying to achieve with 1 second per move. Of course Chessmaster will suggest ridiculous moves (like 13...Kf8 or 15...Nxh2). |

It's not like I expect to have this happen again, but I'd downloaded and installed the 1.02 update. Also, I don't really seem to notice a change in ChessMaster's advice when the time is changed.. the moves you mentioned were flaws by the CPU personality.

With more time, Chessmaster certanly wouldn't advice such ridiculous moves.
What does that " I'd " stand for? I would, I had or...? If you had the patch installed then you shouldn't have received such a non-sence advice (with gramaticall errors). If you didn't have the patch installed then it was "normal". |
