Can anyone please tell me why this keeps coming up when i try to run the game, i have all the required specs, have installed it twice and i have vista as my OS.

its driving me insane trying to figure this out

What version are you running? Go to Help/About. That should tell you the version number, including any patches you have.

Also, what is the exact error message you're getting?

You acctually have to use winzip to unzip the file not the download manager. it works once you do that.

Did you remember to read the Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition FAQ? The information you need is in the System Requirements/Updates section...

You'll need to un-install the Download Manager, download the file manually, and use WinZip (version 11 or greater) to extract the files.

I was able to get my game to work. I went to start menu, accessories, games and there was the chessmaster icon. I clicked on it and it did its updates / patches and the game works great.

I take it you're using Windows Vista?

You're not the only person who has wondered "why don't I see a program folder for Chessmaster?"... I had the same response when I first switched to Vista.

I may just have to add this to the FAQ...
