Is it possible to have a custom avatar for a computer personality opponent?

Yes.

Fof the computer personality you want an avatar for, you'll need to create a bitmap (76 x 97, 24-bit).

You will also need to give it the same name as the personality file... so for Anand (the personality file would be named 'Anand.cmp'), you'd name the file 'Anand.bmp'. Then, just place it in the following folder:

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition\Data\Personalities
