Hello everyone.
I have been slowly completing lessons in the Chessmaster Academy section. It marks the sections completed with a red check. As I continue to progress I would like to back up these lessons in case of a computer hard drive failure so I can re install and have my progress up to date. I also would like to know how everyone is backing up their game stats from playing, that the Chessmaster software stores on the hard drive. I would like to back up to another drive partition and/or a dvd for safe keeping. Any advice and examples or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. It would be nice if the next edition of Chessmaster included a built in feature to do this. Regards, Vector |

Just back up the contents of the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition\Data\Users\<Your Name>. This will get your individual configuration settings, screen layouts, adjourned games, Academy history, user data, and so on. It would be nice to have this as a menu option... why don't you add it to the CM 11 Bug Fixes / Enhancements? |

Yes, I've done this before...
I've got two copies of Chessmaster on two different computers, and it's nice to keep them synchronized. |

What?
I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish, but we're talking about backing up Academy history, personal settings, games, and so on. Re-installing from DVD doesn't take a long time. Besides that, the installation program copies several libraries to various system folders and writes settings to the registry. You can't bypass that by backing up and replacing the entire Chessmaster directory. |
