Is this place just somewhere to let the steam off or does anyone really read the reported bugs ?

This is really getting frustrating...i see pages of complaints about the game but i barely see patches and bug fixed. I am really asking the question now : is there any chessmaster 11 team member reading here ??? If so then show up..We would have MANY things to discuss about.

The online gameplay is really getting annoying, lot of people including myself complain about it but no improvements are made...ARE YOU GUYS WORKING ON IT AT LEAST ???

I am looking forward to hear from one of you ...

p.s. And by the way, shouldn't Ubisoft have their OWN testers ? right now I feel like it is mostly US who are testing...

These forums are primarily for users... and while there have been a few instances of Ubi developers reading this forum, but it's by no means a common thing. Have you tried contacting technical support?

There are two patches for Chessmaster XI right now, so Ubi is doing something about the issues... whether it's enough, I can't say.

Perhaps someone here can help you... what problems are you having?

I am currently having problems with challenging players. sometimes it works, many times it doesn't. The people I am challenging see me in dark so they can't accept the challenge and furthermore, they don't even get my invitation to challenge them at all.

And tonite I saw that a game was being played and it was in light colors, which I am usually able to go watch, but for some reason again, I couldn't go " cannot connect to the server ". And i noticed it wasn't only me who was having these problems because we try to challenge each other and no one sees the other's invitation. On top of that you can add the avatar bug...just 2 dark faces available.

Is all of this normal ? I mean I have faith in this team, hey have done a tremendous work with this software, but if they want us to play online and have fun, they should release the game when it is ready.Right now I have the impression that they simply botched the online game play.

Hopefully there wont be a 12th edition, but another chessmaster 11th " bug fixed " edition instead...that would be convenient.

What about you KHollister ? The game is working exactly the way it's supposed to be on your side ? You can challenge anyone you want at any time and they always get your challenges ? Same thing for them towards you ?

Unfortunately, there are still problems with online play, even with the latest patch. Online play has always been a weak point for the Chessmaster series. However, I agree with you -- Ubisoft needs to be more aggresive in fixing online play issues.

Others have also mentioned that Avatars don't work while online -- I believe this is by design, but as I'm not sure... I can understand not displaying your opponent's avatar, but I would think that it would (at least) display your own...

I've only received a "cannot connect to server" error once; but the other times I was able to connect, no one else was online, so I must confess that I don't have much experience in that area.

I am rather curious to know when Ubisoft takes their chess server down for maintenance; that might explain a few of the problems people have connecting.

Again, if you haven't contacted technical support, please do so... that's the only way developers hear about the problems, as they don't read this forum.

I'm trying to play chessmaster on steam and get the following error when the Ubisoft autopatch tries to run:

The procedure entry point GetProcessId could not be located in the dynamic link
library KERNEL32.dll.

If I am correct, Steam is an online gaming service, where the installation of a game is on a server, rather than your PC?

If that's the case, it sounds like it's a problem with Steam, and you should contact Steam Support...

If the installation is on your PC, then make sure you have Chessmaster installed in the default folder (C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition). Also, perhaps you should download and install the patches manually. Make sure that you run them 'As Administrator'.
