I played a game in which I started out rated 910 against Duke rated 921, which I won. When I brought up the 'Play Ranked Game' window to start a new game, my rating was 839. This has happened to me at least 3 times!

How many rated games have you played?
During the first 20 rated games you play, your rating is considered "provisional", and will fluctuate greatly while Chessmaster figures out a more complete picture of your strength. After that, your rating won't change as much. That being said, some have encountered a bug where your rating seems to only decrease (see the CM 11 Bug Fixes/Enhancements thread). If you're just starting out, don't worry about ratings... it's much more important to focus on concepts and strategy. |

I've played many more than 20 games, probably around 75.
My point is that I payed for a working chess game. If one of the features of the game is rated play, then that feature should function correctly, n'est pas? Too many people are making excuses for a product that has too many problems. Ubisoft support is unreachable. The link to enter a bug ticket goes nowhere. I've spent about an hour trying to report this, but can't. If this is supposed to be such a great product, the company should be monitoring these forums and supporting their community! |

I wasn't making excuses. As I said, beginning chess players should ignore ratings and focus on concepts and strategy.
Since you're no longer provisional, the problem is the ratings bug that I mentioned. It's been known for quite some time. Unfortunately, I don't know when an update will be released to fix this issue. As for submitting a ticket, I'll admit it can be rather trying. However, I didn't have any problems with it just now... go to Ubisoft Technical Support and click on the link for the Support Center Tutorial... this will direct you to the Ubisoft Solution Center. From there, click on 'Ask a Question'. You'll be prompted to login and from there you'll be able to submit your ticket. If that doesn't appeal to you, you can also contact Technical Support by telephone. |

It's about type of the game. For example, when i play Jessica (2000) and my rating is ~2000 on a 15min clock then i get or lose up to 15 points. But, if i start another game with Nikolai (~1750) in 30min clock (standard game)then after i WIN my rating decreases from 2000 to ~1800.
So, the thing is that CM XI actually makes a difference between blitz and standard games & rating, but instead increasing your standard rating when you win standard game he affects the last used rating/type of game. I hope you understood what i wanted to say |
