I'm not trying to stir up trouble, but I just made a post and it appears to have been deleted. Is there a rule I violated? I thought it would be helpful to those of us with multicore procs.
Sorry if I caused some sort of problem. Jim |

Yes, I removed the post -- this has already been described the the Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition FAQ...

Actually, your statement is incorrect. There is nothing in the FAQ describing Affinity between cores/processors.
The FAQ only describes setting the engine priority...trust me, I searched for quad, core, multi, q6600, etc. I don't have this problem on my Core 2 Duo, only on my Core 2 Quad. My post is very valid. |

I think you have been too quick on this one KHollister.
It's the problem with more than two cores. Anyway, here is the original post Chessmaster was tested only on dual cores. Since you have 4 cores this may realy be causing Chessmaster to crash. It's not excluded that it isn't something else. If you limit Chessmaster to only use 2 cores and the game doesn't crash anymore, then it must be it. I think you can limit the number of cores by modifying the ini file. Go to C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition\Data\Users\YourName\YourName.ini and set threads_count=2 |

Can you confirm if limiting Chessmaster to 2 cores (by modifying the ini file) really works?
