I'm used to edit 2d chess sets in chessmaster using the extract tool, but recently I've tried to change the textures of a 3d set and had some troubles. I wanted to change the zagreb set. King and queen have the usual wood texture but with white or black tops. I don't like those different colour tops, but I'm not being able to change them. Among the extracted textures I can find the wood texture and shadows bitmaps, but nothing like mapping coordinates or a second texture, so that I'm wondering if those black and white tops are just the original colour of the mesh without any texture applied to it. If so, is there any way to change the base colour of the mesh. Btw, when trying to change specularity with the extract tool, it sometimes work, sometimes not. I'm using the extract tool I used with chessmaster 10; has it been updated for chessmaster 11?
No, the tool hasn't been updated for Chessmaster 11.
I haven't tried updating the chess sets (I'm very happy with those provided); the only thing I can think of is that you might not be able to change the House of Staunton sets. But I'm not sure of this.
I was able to change the wood texture, but I think the top is unavailable. In what concerns the specularity, I was able to change it by reloading the original set from a backup file on every try. That is, not changing the already changed setting. It worked that way. Thanks anyway.
