Personally, I'm disappointed that Anand hasn't done better... however, it's still early, so he could still surprise everyone. Cool

And here are the standings after 5 rounds:

1.T. Radjabov
L. Aronian
M. Carlsen 3.5

4.V. Kramnik
J. Polgar 3

6.S. Mamedyarov
M. Adams
V. Ivanchuk
P. Leko
L. van Wely 2.5

11.V. Topalov
V. Anand 2

13.P. Eljanov
B. Gelfand 1

I feel the tournament is starting to get more interesting. Tomorrow Kramnik (w) plays against Aronian and Carlsen (w) against Polgar. All of these 4 players are undefeated so far, so draws are most likely to come.

Topalov has a streak of 2 but he has a mountain to climb beginning tomorrow against Carlsen. Carlsen is alone on top but Kramnik is so close, Kramnik won in a strange finale against Aronian, Aronian faces Radjabov tomorrow, these 2 matches could make things more clear as far as the top is concerned.
I can't say I am impressed by Topalov's run. I am expecting Carlsen to give an end to it.

Today there is a day off, tomorrow's big match is Topalov-Kramnik. Topalov is almost out of the contest after his defeat by Anand but Kramnik is chasing Carlsen.
Carlsen has a very difficult finale against Anand, Kramnik and Radjabov so the next 2 games seem like a good chance for him to maintain the lead, so that 3 draws in the last 3 games can give him the 1st place.
Aronian seems to have the easiest schedule (if there is such thing).

Well, Cheparinov apologized, and the game was replayed. After 6 hours, Short emerged as the winner.

There was a handshake before AND after the game, too... Smile

It was a surprise to see Carlsen escaping with a victory. Tough finale for the young man, let's see if he can make it.
Tomorrow's big match is Carlsen-Anand.
Also Ivanchuk-Adamns, both of them are undefeated so far!
