Hi all,

I was looking at the website for the Moscow Open, and I looked at the list of competitors. Naturally, there are several Russians, but I was saddened to see only 3 Americans in the tournament.

That got me wondering: how diverse is this forum? I assume that most here are from Europe, but I could be wrong...

Question:
Where do you come from?

Choices:
Africa
Antarctica
Asia
Australia
Europe
North America
South America

Well, there are some some research stations there. Some of those people at those stations might play chess... Wink

+1 Europe here. UK actually.

Is there an option of putting a sub-poll to see the main country constituents, my guess would be USA, UK, France, Germany, Australia, Russia.

P.S. Australia is a country, if you want the continent you need to change it to Oceania. Wikipedia Article

Wasn't Oceania the name of a country in George Orwell's 1984? Wink

Actually, here in the U.S., Australia refers to both the country and the continent -- or at least it did when I learned the continents.

But then again, I went to a public school... Smile

UK here, as the reference to the "Cold North Sea" in my sig suggests, I live in the North East coast region of the UK. Big Grin

Australia is a country and also the name of the continent.

Oceania is the region (but it's also sometime used as a name of the continent)

To be honest this is a bit of a moot point as there are so many ways of naming the continents, as on this page one of the opening sentences says "Australia" is a continent, but later on contradicts itself in the table when scrolling down by saying that Oceania is the correct term.

I just say Oceania as it is the general term for that whole area and everyone (who I know at least) understands when I say Oceania (which I admit doesn't happen very often).
