When playing the game I can see the name of the opening used in the bottom line of the main window. Unfortunately on Vista operating system (Aero interface on!), I can see only the upper half of the letters, whereas the lower half is covered by the window frame. See Picture
Is there a way to change the display settings to show the entire text?
I have got a reply from Ubisoft Technical Support. They said to reduce the number of colours to 16-bit and resolution to a lower one. This resulted in changing the Theme from Aero to Vista Basic one, which is not something I would accept. To my direct question, whether Chessmaster supports Aero interface in Vista, I have got no reply, whatsoever ;-)
Theoretically, this should be quite simple: If Aero Theme is on, increase the width of the bottom frame by a few pixels. I am not a programming expert, but I guess, that Vista provides a unified interface guaranteeing the proper look of the windows in ALL themes. Ubisoft just needs to USE it! Otherwise, all other programs claiming Vista compatibility would not work correctly ... but in most cases they do!
