All of us must complain to UBI that we are having problems with the rating system and the JOIN BUTTON BEING greyed out!!!

MORE PRESSURE= ACTIVATION FOR THE UBI TEAM, THUS will make them sort out the problem.
I am very irritated by the fact that UBI say that they are unaware of this problem it makes me think that you people the CM XI Chess players aren't complaining enough.

The reason why I made the Thread Title subject in CAPS is to attract (eye-catch) the UBI'S Attention.
So as soon as UBI are asking for the damn evidence!!

SHOW THIS THREAD!!!!!!!!!

Let me get this straight... you're blaming a bug on the end users? Confused

If you've contacted tech support and told them about it, then they know it's a problem. And then they'll fix it when they're good and ready.

There's no guarantee on when that will be, though... Wink

And you should know by now that Ubisoft developers very seldom (if ever) read this forum, so posting a thread title in all caps means absolutely nothing. Roll Eyes

comeon man, this game is going to be for the next 3 years till a next version of cm arrives.

Are you telling me that ubi do not guarantee to solve an issue like that, and we are going to play like that for 3 whole years, give me a break lol... Sad Eyes

Well, I would hope that Ubisoft fixes the issue sooner rather than later, but considering the past history of patches, who knows?

Not to mention, when I went online to report the problem with ratings not being adjusted properly, I got an automated response telling me to post on the forums; not exactly what I'd call helpful...

khollister wtf is your problem man? do u have stock in ubisoft or something? u almost sound like u like the bug in the game. and ubisoft will not fix it when they're good & god damn ready. we need to fuking make em do it! start flooding their call center with this **** because it's annoying as hell. heardly anybody plays online right now & i'm pretty fuking sure this is the reason why! if anybody from ubisoft does this read this i just have 1 more thing to add: BLOW ME!

Eek Ok...what on earth is wrong with you? as far as i understood KHollister's posts he is much annoyed from the glitch as every one else is. There is hardly any point in moaning in the forum, because a bug of such magnitude is most surely recognized and addressed by Ubisoft. However since they are engaged in devloping (and fixing Roll Eyes ) multiple other projects it might take same time before they respond to this particular issue. Have some patience and mind your language.

jeffjacob1978, if Chessmaster is frustrating you this much, perhaps you should switch to another chess program... there are several to choose from.

You also mentioned in a previous post that you're trying to become a great player. Chess requires a lot of patience. If my previous post caused you to lose your composure, then you have a long ways to go before becoming "great".

That is, unless you're trying to mimic the late Bobby Fischer (which isn't recommended). Smile

It will probably be addressed in the next (third) patch. I guess they were right when they said never buy software with a version ending in .0!

there are limits to everything (including my patience). i think even gandhi would've smashed his monitor with his chair after all this. basically this is what the bug is causing in a nutshell: we will reward bad play & but good play won't be recognized. this is such a stupid bug it should've never even become an issue. and why is nobody referring to the comment i made that hardly anybody is playing online now? i just have 1 more thing to say. odysseus_bg, after ubisoft blows me u can drop to your knees next motherfuker! don't ever think that u can tell me wtf to do! i could give a sh it if u care for my choice of words or not!

Jeff I understand your feelings about this but this is not the WORST case!!! definetly NOT! I play FIFA 08 as you can see with my user bars, there people QUIT and you don't receive rating not even win/loss/draw.

HERE atleast you can get a win in your stats, if You go nuts from chessmaster I don't know how you will react if you play FIFA 07, 08 they are even more terrible. Reason why I play FIFA 08, coz its ADDICTIVE!! I can atleat create a private match to play against people who do not quit.
UBI is very, very lazy, very few players online, I play Splinter Cell Chaos Theory online there, there is like just 100 people lowest is like 20. FIFa has like thousands of players online never get bored, I recently stopped playing chessmaster, play rarer and until ubi do not fix this issue I will not log in to the CM server. I gone on to play in Freechess.org (free internet chess server) cos its better over 1500 players online over there.

lol you're a funny little man. there is a fine line between madness & genius but i'm not claiming i'm either. i just extremely little patience for pure stupidity & ubisoft is showing that they are the kings of retardville.

You think that the increasing number next to your name will make you a better player?

Since you are so impatient, I don't know how you can play chess at all.

I agree that if it has the rating system then it should work properly, but as long as you can play the game, there isn't any real problem (for someone who plays the game just for the sake of playing - that is).


P.S.: Before you ask. Yes, I have the stocks in Ubisoft. I'm the owner Roll Eyes

The frustrations of “jeffjacob1978” and “CrUel_KNIGHTS” are justified, although the manner in which they expressed their frustrations may not be.

Fact: UBISoft released a game that is not fully functional with respect to the Online Play feature.
Support?: a) Join button is grey-out; b) users are frequently disconnected from the CM Lobby, c) Users are unable to receive/accept challenges from other players, d) users are unable to initiate challenges, e) users rating does not update.

In my opinion, because UBISoft released software that is not fully functional, I have every right, as a consumer, to be incredibly disappointed and frustrated.

UBI, in selling this product, advertised the Online Play feature. The online play feature does not work. UBI advertised a product with features that do not work – that’s unethical!

So to UBI: Fix this problem! Or, I feel I’m entitled to get my money back.

It useto work few months ago but the grayed out button has always been there.

Increasing the number next to your name is the stats in which you are. That's a way to judge the level of the opponent.
The more the rating increases I presume the more improved you become.
And i bet if this problem is solved we are going to have more opponents online.

We aren't having the online features for just a 1 month trial we are going to play it for over 3+ years before the next released version arrives.
So for 3+ years if you think this problem is going to stay like that, then tough People will not buy the game and ubi will lose money. It is just simply bad organization and it can be seen crystal clear, there is no shadow of a doubt you ask technical support its been over a month since ubi havent yet even replied me of this issue.
This software should not cost £14.99. I have had many games like Tomb Raider 3 and Tomb Raider The Last Revelation for just £5 in one CD from Soldout company. The time when I bought CMGM edition was 14.99 from Blockbusters in the UK, amazon selled it for 10.99 which was even cheaper. I deliberately bought it from the shop even though it costed a few pounds more only to not wait wait over 2 weeks for the arrival. I wanted it immediately and now we are waiting here for so many months and I am even uncertain whether this is going to be fixed or not.

UBI hasn't even given any announcement as to when the 3rd patch is going to be released and what its going to solve. Explains how well organized they are...

I haven't been playing online on cmx11 long but haven't encountered any problems with challenging or rating...nor have I been disconnected...

You played it long ago as you have said and there was no problem then. You have to play more challenging games and you will notice the join bug problem. I played about 149 CM games so far not that many but more then enough to notice online bugs.

When was the last time you were able to log on and play an opponent online? Including, accepting challenges

Have you installed any of the CM 11 upgrades? If so, which one(s)?
