Does anybody knows which version of Chessmaster was motorized by The King 2.55 ?

I don't have this information presently at hand, but if memory serves me correctly, TheKing 2.55 was used by Chessmaster 5500...

You got me there. My memory only goes as far back as Chessmaster 8000.

• Chessmaster 8000 - originally The King 3.12a, then the patches upgraded it to 3.12c and ultimatelly to 3.12d (I believe 3.12b was skipped)
  
• Chessmaster 9000 - The King 3.23
  
• 10th Edition - The King 3.33
  
• Chessmaster Challenge - The King 3.32
  
• Grandmaster Edition - The King 3.50 (32-bit and 64-bit version) + The King 3.33

According to this page it really was Chessmaster 5500
