Hello again,
I have 2 questions regarding CM11: 1. Is it possible to change settings somewhere so that all the personalities move more quickly, even immediately? It seems like there is a delay in my opponents moves that is more to do with an attempt by CM to be realistic than to do with my opponent (the computer, ultimately) actually doing any calculations. I find myself only playing against opponents who move quickly, like Max 1588, because many of the other personalities are so damn slow, even from move 2 or 3 or where their next move is obvious. 2. Can I disable ALL sounds, including the sounds connected to exiting the game? I already have all the sounds turned off but there are still some annoying sounds when I close things or exit the game. Thanks for any help. Kenny |

Wow... normally, people complain that Chessmaster moves too fast and isn't very realistic. Now it's the other way around... First, I would suggest decreasing the amount of time your time controls have... also, don't use 'Infinite Time'. That pretty much guarantees you'll wait a long time. You could use Ctrl-F to force the computer to move; but keep in mind that this only applies to Training mode. As far as turning off all sounds, see this post. |

Hello again,
With the time control question, is it possible to make the computer move quicker in rated games? With the question about sounds, the post you referred me to got rid of all sounds, including the spoken audio in the chess academy. I like to listen to the narration in the academy, but I want to get rid of the sound effects attached to the opening menu, there's some music when the menu appears and sounds attatched to every click I make on menu items. There are also similar sounds attached to closing out of the game. Is it possible to get rid of those sounds but keep the audio in the academy? Thanks for any help. Kenny |

1) Only by setting up shorter time control (applies for both opponents of course).
Computer is not simulating anything. It either moves, or IT IS calculating. He is not sitting idle and waiting for some time to elapse. 2) Turn off the speakers |
