Sounds like an IRQ problem. If the Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition FAQ doesn't help you. Sometimes, your IRQ's are shared by two or more interfaces. The display and sound interfaces are usually the cause. And then, usually it is the sound card interface. To change your IRQ with the sound card using Windows XP, just put your sound card into another slot.
To check your IRQ's, just use the device manager. view > resources by type > irq

What you're describing might help; but it's probably beyond this person. I really wish someone would post some frequently asked questions prominently on this forum. That way, people could read that post first before asking a questionthat people could read first before they post a question...  Before anyone asks: yes, that was sarcasm.
