I'm using Chessmaster XI Grandmaster Edition on Windows XP. My two questions are:
1) Are Chessmaster 10th Edition chess sets and skins compatible with CM XI? 2) How can I remove a skin or chess set? P.S. If anyone can help with the following I'd be delighted: I imported an engine and it's a personality now. How can I remove it? (When I go to setup personality window and select it, I get an error message). |

Yes, you can use Chessmaster 10th Edition sets with Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition.
To remove a chess set, you need to delete the corresponding .dat file. For instance, if you want to remove the "Raving Rabbids" set, you'd delete the file 'CO_Raving Rabbids.dat'. The .dat files are found in the following folder: C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition\Data\Dat Note that there may be some other files in some of the subfolders; you can remove them if you wish, but leaving them won't cause any problems, either. To remove a personality, you need to remove the corresponding .cmp file. If you want to remove the Stanley personality, you'd delete the file 'Stanley.CMP'. These files are found in the folder: C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition\Data\Personalities Hope this helps. |
