1) Is it possible to select a chess board separate from the chess pieces? For example, in CM9000 I could use a glass board with wood pieces if I wanted.

2) Did the masters class points feature just disappear? My daughter liked that (as did I honestly), as it gave you a nice goal to work toward (and beating all the ranked personalities to get the last few points was tough)

I skipped Chessmaster X, but this feels a bit like one step forward, and two steps back. Maybe it will just take me a bit to get used to the new "look and feel" of this version...

No, in Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition the board and sets come together. You use a diffeerent background, though.

Master Class Points are still there, but they're in 'Learn Basics' under the Fun section. When you're there, go to the Windows menu and select 'Master Class'.

Grrrrr.... Was it so hard to have boards and sets separate?

And I found the master's points. Thanks, but it looks like they took the games out of the scoring. That was the part that made it real, if that makes sense...
