i would like to ask if i can play chess Master via my home/work network. if not which chess software is allowinf this fasility?

Yes, you can do this... Chessmaster has an option to play over a LAN, as well as online. It works very well.

From Chessmaster's main menu, click on the 'Play' icon (the one in the middle with two pawns). Once it expands, click on the right-most icon (the one with two computers).

Keep in mind for this to work, everyone involved has to have the same version of Chessmaster.
