Hello,
I'm unable to load the Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition game. Whenever I start it, I get an error message saying, "There was an error while trying to initialize the game." I checked my direct x settings, and direct draw, direct 3d, and AGP text. are all enabled. My video card has 64mb of ram, my processor is 2.5 gHz, and I have 1gig of memory. Hard disk space is ok too. My video card is an Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller chip. It's an onboard card. I have no trouble running Chessmaster 10. Any suggestions? |

That fix works for people who are running a program called D3DOVerider. I'm not using that, so I'm not sure what else I can try. Thanks for the reply though. Any other suggestions would be hugely appreciated.

Hi, littleBill1980.
Have you checked for recent driver updates for your graphics chip? http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=922 The difference between CM10 and CMGME is that CM10 is built around DirectX 9.0 and CMGME is built using DirectX 9.0c. CMGME does not support OpenGL anymore. Did you encountered this problem when playing other 3D games? |
